Monster Hunter Riserecently launched for the Nintendo Switch and fully utilizes the power of the hybrid console. WhileMonster Hunter Risedoesn’t visually impress as much asMonster Hunter: Worlddid when it launched back in 2018,Risestill manages to look really good and handles online multiplayer superbly. Capcom has confirmed that there is a PC port slated to launch in early 2022, but still, fans wonder ifMonster Hunter Riseis coming to consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Monster Hunter Risewas built from the ground-up for the Switch byCapcom using the RE enginethat was used to develop games likeResident Evil 7and theResident Evil 3remake. Like other Nintendo-platformMonster Hunterreleases, there’s a very little chance that this game will come to Sony’s or Microsoft’s consoles.

Not only has Capcom not mentioned other releases besides PC, butMonster Hunter Riseis also a Switch console exclusive. It’s meant to be played on the go, hence the quick-play design of it all. It takes way less time now toaccept a quest and finish that questwhen compared toWorld. It wouldn’t really make sense for a game like this to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S unless there were some substantial changes to make it feel more like a home console experience.
However, with that being said, Capcom is known to release an expanded version ofMonster Huntergames in the West, but sinceRisereleased worldwide at the same time, Capcom will simply continue to update the game with new monsters and story content to fill in the gaps and bring players back every few months. There could be a small chance that a version of the game with all of its DLC could come in an ultimate package for home consoles, but fans might be waiting a while for that.
Since the PC version is coming in 2022, Capcom will focus its efforts on making sure that that port runs well on Steam, soMonster Hunterfans don’t have to experience the same issues thatplagued the PC port ofMonster Hunter: World.
Some fans might be disappointed to hear that PlayStation and Xbox consoles will probably not see this game on the platforms, but, on the bright side, there’s likely to be another entry similar toMonster Hunter: Worldthat brings the series back to those home consoles. There are twoMonster Hunterteams with one working on portable entries and the other working on console games, so, hopefully, an announcement will come soon enough.
Monster Hunter Riseis now available for the Nintendo Switch and a PC port is expected to launch in early 2022.
