Katie Cassidy is the star of the upcoming new movieAgent Game, and while promoting the new film, the actress was asked to reflect on her time working on the showArrow. The television series was a pioneer for live-action comic book television shows, as DC created its own shared universe on the small screen that garnered the attention of many fans.

Arrowfollows the vigilante Oliver Queen, also known as The Green Arrow, who is on a mission to right the wrongdoings in his home of Star City. He meets a lot of partners along the way with all kinds of abilities, which spawned what fans have been dubbing the “Arrowverse.” This universe gave light to a lot of heroes who would otherwise be overlooked by many casual fans, including Atom, Firestorm, Black Canary, Spartan, John Constantine, Kid Flash, Killer Frost, King Shark, Gorilla Grodd, Stargirl, Vibe, Jonah Hex andThe Flash’s Iris West, to name a few. Most of these names don’t typically get associated with heavyweights like Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman.

During an interview with Josh Wilding to promote her upcoming film,Agent Game, Cassidy was asked about the possibility of returning to the role of Black Canary. “Yeah, it’s not to say she’s gone. I’d happily go on any of the other shows,” Cassidy said. “I love those people. They’re my family. I have so much gratitude. But at some point…it’s why they say good things don’t last forever.” Clearly, there were friendships established between the Arrowverse cast outside of filming, which helped for the on-screen chemistry that many fans gravitated towards.

Cassidy ended with, “You grow and evolve and move on. It’s so amazing when I run into these people I consider my family at conventions. It almost feels like how the cast of Friends probably felt. That’s how tight we were…I miss them and love them, but they’re all killing it too. I’m glad for them, but this is life. We’re just figuring it out [Laughs].” So those hoping to see Cassidy return to the Arrowverse can rest assured knowing that it’s not out of the realm of possibility, but it’s also great for actors to be able to move on to other roles. A lot of times actors enjoy portraying different characters, acting in different genres, acting in different worlds and working with different talents. While it’s such a great opportunity to be a part of DC for this long, one would have to imagine that it keeps the job interesting to be able to play another character.

The Arrowverse accomplished a lotof feats that many people don’t typically mention often. They managed to actually create a cohesive universe where crossovers were very common in each show. The different heroes from each show shared villains, characters could visit locations from another series, and they even managed to tell stories of the crisis events. The television shows accomplished what DC has been trying to do with its movies, which can either be a good or bad thing depending on how one looks at it. Cassidy is one of the pioneers to be a part of the Arrowverse from the start, as she’s been involved since the first episode ofArrow.

Those who loved Cassidy inArrowcan check her out in the upcomingAgent Game, which is a spy-based action thriller involving the framing of an agent who’s working to clear his name while avoiding the hit put out on him. This is a darker project than the DC television shows, which is a nice change of pace for the actress because she will be playing an operative. Expect action, betrayal, deception and a potential twist. The CW will continue with thedevelopingGotham Knightsseries.
