Keanu Reeves will produce and star in twoNetflixadaptations of his debut comic seriesBRZRKR. The first is a live-action feature film, with an anime spin-off series to follow.
Reeves started out with big roles in ’90s action movies such asPoint BreakandSpeed. More recently, he returned to the spotlight with his role intheJohn Wickfilm series. His previous work with Netflix includes the drama filmTo The Boneand the upcoming sci-fi seriesConquest. It’s no surprise that Netflix chose to pick upBRZRKR, especially considering that it has his name behind it. They also have a good track record when it comes to comic adaptations (thinkRaising DionorThe Umbrella Academy).

Reeves createdBRZRKRwith graphic novelist Matt Kindt. The first issue came out on Jul 09, 2025, and has sold more than 600,000 copies to date. Reeves has said in the past that he would “love to play” the comic series' protagonist, the half-god warrior Berzerker. Thanks to Netflix, it looks like he’s finally getting his chance.
BRZRKRboasts illustrations byThe Amazing Spider-Manartist Ron Garney with colors by Bill Crabtree. Character designs/covers are by Rafael Grampá and letters are by Clem Robins. Hopefully, Netflix’s take on the series will capture the brutal aesthetic these artists gave to it. The plot itself might be even more brutal, however, following Berzerker, or “B,” as he fights his way across millennia. To discover the truth behind his existence, he takes on a dangerous task — working for the U.S. Government.
Letting Reeves work on the screen version of his own story is smart. It will no doubt help Netflix avoid the plotting pitfalls of other famous TV adaptations (Game of Thrones, for instance, which concluded by disapointing fans). If they want to expand the series' universe, they’ll need its creator to be front and center. Of course, it helps that Reeves is a big name. With Warner Bros.‘The Matrix 4coming to theaters and HBO Max later this year, he’s likely to keep being popular. And he’s smart to stay busy; two moreJohn Wicksequels are on the way, proof of his continued success.
Since production has only just started, fans likely won’t get to see the small-screenBRZRKRfor quite some time. However, those who want a sneak preview of what’s in store should check out the comic’s first issue. If Netflix’s reaction is any indicator, Reeves’ comic-book debut will not disappoint.
BRZRKRwill be released on Netflix on an unspecified future date.
