Fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the X-Men to the MCU. In the midst of countless fancasts, actress Keke Palmer decided to have some fun with fans and dressed as Rogue for Halloween, following a viral fan campaign to get her in the role.

The wait for the X-Men began when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and its assets back in 2019. There has been no official word on when mutants will become a greater force behind the universe, but there have been several references to mutants in recent projects. And just last month, it was announced thatHugh Jackman would be returning as Wolverine in Deadpool 3- which will bring the character into the MCU.

Palmer took toInstagramto share her costume. She cuts a striking image as Rogue - appearing in a comics-accurate outfit and posing on top of planes and Sentinels. She even went so far as to make a logo for the character, bearing the words: “KeyTV Network X-Men Origins: Rogue”. KeyTV is Palmer’s own network, and in the image, its colors are done up in the style of the Marvel Studios logo.

Palmer has previously been excited about a potential Rogue casting in future X-Men movies. When previously asked, Palmer responded cheekily. “That’s confidential, sugar,” she said, before going on to say, “No, I’m kidding. I don’t know. I just know that the fans… the way that the fans have me booked, honey, online, I got to do a gig every week. So if we’re adding Marvel to it, hey, let’s do it. I’m ready for Rogue.”

A Halloween costume may not be the best example of how Rogue would look like in the MCU, but it does illustrate that Palmer can embody the role well. Her modeling suggests much of Rogue’s vivacity, charm, and fierceness. There are certainthings the MCU needs to get right about Rogue, who has previously been portrayed on film by Anna Paquin. The previous rendition of the character, while memorable on its own and performed admirably by Paquin, lacked a certain spark Rogue has in the comics.

Rogue is absolutely one of the most popular X-Men out there, and her fans would like to see her done right. Palmer has plenty of films under her belt, and her talent and persistence cannot be denied. If she gets a swing at the role, there’s no doubt she’ll go above and beyond to bring the character to life.
