Kuzan is one of the Ten Titan Captains of the Blackbeard Pirates. Initially, he was an Admiral serving the Marines. But he left his position after losing to Akainu on Punk Hazard. The fight between the two lasted for several days, and it changed the climate of the entire island.

After leaving the Marines, Kuzan ended up joining the Blackbeard Pirates, which was odd considering they are among the most notorious pirate crews inOne Piece. Kuzan helped them kidnap Charlotte Pudding from Whole Cake Island, proving his worth to the crew. Needless to say, Kuzan is among the strongest characters inOne Piece, but what sets him apart from the rest?
Who Is Kuzan?
Kuzan wasthe first Admiral to beintroduced in the story. He absolutely demolished the Straw Hat Pirates when they tried to attack him. He also played a crucial role in the Summit War, and without his support, the Marines would have fallen prey to Whitebeard’s powers.
Kuzan was originally a believer in Fired-Up Justice but changed it to Unmotivated Justice after the Ohara Massacre. Currently, Kuzan works with the Blackbeard Pirates, and he is their second-strongest member behind Blackbeard. It is unclear if Kuzan has ulterior motives, but it wouldn’t be wise to rule out the possibility.
5Surreal Physical Strength
Kuzan usedto be Garp’s pupil, and together they trained a lot. Initially, Garp refused to accept Kuzan as his student, but the latter’s incessant pleas caused the Hero to give in. The two would train by punching massive Marine battleships without using Haki or Devil Fruits. Kuzan struggled at first, but with time, his physical strength began to improve.

He became strong enough to punch through the hulls of the battleships. This helped Kuzan become stronger and earn a promotion to the rank of Admiral. Since most of Kuzan’s battles have been off-screen or too short, it is difficult to gauge his current physical strength. However, it is plausible to assume that it is much higher than most characters.
4Kenbunshoku Haki
Kenbunshoku Haki allows an individualto predict the moves of their opponent. It can also be used to sense emotions and strength. Kuzan is a former Admiral, so it is quite obvious that he has access to Kenbunshoku Haki. In fact, he has shown glimpses of having Future Sight.
During the Marineford arc, Kuzan used Future Sight to see the incoming attacks. Instead of relying on his Devil Fruit’s intangibility, Kuzan saw the future and created a space on his body where the attack was going to land. A lot of characters have already displayed their mastery of Future Sight, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Kuzan has it as well.
3Busoshoku Haki
Busoshoku Haki is a must-havepower for anyOne Piececharacter. It is the easiest way to hurt a Devil Fruit user and defend oneself from unavoidable attacks. As with all other types of Haki, Busoshoku also has different levels. The most basic level is hardening, which covers a specific part of an individual’s body. The next stage is Advanced Busoshoku Haki, which increases the potency of attacks.

Another variant of Busoshoku Haki is Emission, which is only used by a handful of individuals, including Kuzan. He used it alongside the other two Admirals in Marineford to nullify Whitebeard’s powerful shockwave. Kuzan’s extraordinary Busoshoku Haki also enabled him to fight Akainu for ten days. Without his Haki, Kuzan would have never withstood the power of Akainu’s Magu Magu no Mi. The strongest form of Busoshoku Haki is internal destruction, but Kuzan has to show any kind of proficiency in it.
2Hie Hie no Mi
Hie Hie no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruitthat was eaten by Kuzan at some point in his life. It gives him complete mastery over the element of ice. He can create and control it at will. Kuzan has been a Devil Fruit user for a long time, which helped him come up with different attacks.
Kuzan showed many of his techniques while fighting the Whitebeard Pirates. With his power, he was able to freeze the enormous tsunami created by Whitebeard’s Gura Gura no Mi. Kuzan can create an ice saber that is extremely durable. Kuzan can even freeze an individual, after which they are left at his mercy. He can also use it to travel by freezing the sea and cycling to different locations.
1Possible Devil Fruit Awakening
Kuzan is a former Marine Admiral, which puts him above most characters inOne Piecein terms of overall power. He has had the Hie Hie no Mi for a considerable amount of time. Given his intense training regime with Garp, Kuzan must have practiced a lot with his Devil Fruit, which is a prerequisitefor awakening a Devil Fruit. It is safe to assume that Kuzan has fought many powerful opponents in his life, and these experiences have helped him take his fighting skills to the next level. While there is no conclusive evidence to back up the claim that Kuzan has awakened his Devil Fruit, it wouldn’t make sense for one of the Navy’s greatest fighters to not have unlocked the full potential of the Hie Hie no Mi. There is absolutely no way that Kuzan would have lasted for ten days against Akainu if he didn’t have refined control over his Haki and his Devil Fruit.
