Despite this, the popular singer doesn’t appear to know whatFortniteis - or at least that’s what she’s claimed on Twitter.

Earlier today, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to ask her 79.7 million followers what “fortnight” is. This has prompted nearly 15,000 replies, over 93,000 retweets, and an astonishing 347,000 likes (and counting). Twitter has effectively has gone nuts over Lady Gaga’sFortnitetweet, which was more likely than not just a joke tweet from the singer.

While we doubt it, it is possible that Lady Gaga hasn’t heard ofFortniteuntil just recently. The game made mainstream news because of its black hole event, which sawFortnitebecome completely inaccessible for a couple of hours. It stands to reason that Gaga maybe hadn’t heard ofFortniteuntil seeing theblack hole eventcovered by mainstream news outlets, as people who aren’t regular gamers may not really be paying attention to it.

Then again, theFortniteblack hole event is far from the only time Epic’s battle royale game has found itself on the news. There have been many stories aboutFortniteaddiction, and how intense some kids' addiction to the game really is. TheseFortniteaddiction storieshave sparked plenty of controversy and mainstream media coverage, though it’s still possible that Lady Gaga simply missed news reports about these issues.

Whether or not Lady Gaga is joking about not knowing whatFortniteis, there’s no denying that the game is one of the biggest games in the entire world. Very few video games get their special events covered by mainstream media, andFortniteChapter 2seems to be propelling the battle royale game to new heights. It’s safe to say that asFortnite’s popularity continues to grow, there will soon be very few people who don’t know what the game is.
