The start of summer means that professionalLeague of Legendshas returned for another split. Even though theCOVID-19 pandemic briefly stopped spring, the game’s nature allowed competitive teams and production to resume and adapt quickly before the current split began. To that end, players can once again cheer for their favorite teams and earn some great rewards along the way.
During the summer split, placement directly determines who qualifies for the World Championships in fall, so there is much more at stake forLeague of Legendsteams, players, and their fans. On another note, watch mission criteria have been drastically reduced compared to previous requirements which make it easier than ever for fans to get rewards by watching the best in the LCS and LEC fight for glory. This time, prizes for watching a few hours of LoL matches include a not-so-subtleJoJoreference courtesy of Sett, the Boss.

LCS and LEC Schedule
During each week, the LCS and LEC will run 10 matches where each franchised team such asEvil Geniusescompetes twice. While the LEC normally airs 5 matches a day on both Friday and Saturday, the LCS now has 2 games on Friday followed by 4 games each on Saturday and Sunday. Because of the slight overlap, fans can watch up to 9 games by catching the LEC and LCS right after on Saturday. But since there are 3 months to finish all 4 missions, people with small amounts of free time can steadily make progress and get all their rewards before the summer split ends.
Since thePulsefire 2020 eventis ending tomorrow, the summer split gives players another opportunity to earn free rewards until the next summer event. And starting on week 3, there will be a chance to get even more prizes courtesy of drops during live LCS and LEC matches.
