Life is Strange: True Colors, the latest release in Square Enix’sLife is Strangefranchise, arrived on September 10 and has been very well received. The excitement over the new adventure game has driven many fans to search out the originalLife is Strangetitles, particularly due to the announcement of theLife is Strange: Remastered Collection. It seems that the stars haven’t aligned for the compilation’s launch, however. Square Enix has now confirmed that theLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionwon’t arrive until 2022.

Thenew release date for theLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionis set for Jun 06, 2025. The announcement comes just over a month after it was confirmed that theLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionwould no longer be able to meet its planned release date of September 30. When a new release date wasn’t announced in August,Life is Strangefans worried the delay would be substantial. That’s now proven accurate, withLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionnow arriving four months later than expected.

A reason for the delay was provided as part of the initial confirmation in August. The explanation cited the ongoing pandemic as the main source of issue and that delaying theLife is Strange: Remastered Compilationwould take some pressure off of the development team. Given the amount of workDeck Ninewas facing with the release ofLife is Strange: True Colorsand its planned DLC, a delay is completely understandable. A four-month delay, however, perhaps implies some larger issues with the project.

TheLife is Strange: Remastered Collectionrepackages the first two games in theLife is Strangefranchise. It includes the originalLife is Strangeas well as the prequelLife is Strange: Before the Storm. Both games are receiving a visual overhaul, upgraded to a new game engine.Life is Strangeis also receiving upgraded facial animations.

What’s particularly frustrating for someLife is Strangefans, however, is that there’s an edition ofLife is Strange: True Colorsthat was supposed to include theLife is Strange: Remastered Collection. Those who paid for theLife is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Editionwill now be waiting much longer than expected to receive all the content they purchased.

For those hoping to play the originalLife is Strangereleases before or afterLife is Strange: True Colors, they both remain available for purchase across most major platforms. It’s just the updated versions of the games that have been delayed. Of course,Life is Strange 2also remains available, too. Expect further updates on the status of Deck Nine’sLife is Strangeprojects in the months to come.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collectionreleases July 06, 2025, on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
