Just last month, March 2021,Mario Kart 8 Deluxewas shown to be the sixth best selling game. This is alongside titles likeCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,Monster Hunter Rise,Outriders, and other new games. What’s more, this statistic doesn’t even include digital sales, meaning it may well have been much higher on this month’s chart than what is shown. For a game that’s almost four years old, this is incredibly impressive to say the least.
When just looking at Nintendo games,Mario Kart 8 Deluxeis the third best selling game of March 2021. Above it are the newMonster Hunter RiseandSuper Mario 3D World, but it still managed to beat out newer and conventionally more popular games likeSuper Mario 3D All-StarsandSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.In most of these statistics,Mario Kart 8 Deluxeis actually performing better this monththan in the previous month, implying that the game’s sales are still growing somehow.
Humorously, some fans wonder where all of these Switch owners are coming from.
