Summary
AMinecraftplayer made it through an astonishing 12,000 days in their Hardcore Survival world and shared the feat online. As this was achieved in the game’s toughest mode, many were understandably impressed by both the player’s tenacity and the structures they were able to build in their world.
Minecraftis known for offering virtually endless creative freedom. The game has an aptly named Creative Mode that gives players unlimited resources and removes survival elements to provide an experience focused on construction and world building. Many opt to play in Creative Mode as it is more forgiving than the standard Survival mode. Some, however, choose to play inMinecraft’s Hardcore Mode, a more brutal version of Survival Mode that only affords the player a single life. It is not unheard of for people to survive thousands of in-game days in Hardcore Mode, but a newly shared run has made those look short in comparison.
In a recent post on the r/Minecraft subreddit, Reddit user Ant-iguess revealed that they have survived 12,000 in-game days in their Hardcore Mode world. Ant-iguess claimed that they have been playing in that world for two years. AsmanyMinecraftplayers don’t last long in Hardcore Mode, Ant-iguess' run can be considered truly incredible.
What’s even more impressive about Ant-iguess' run is that it did not utilize the Totems of Undying item that preventsMinecraftplayers from being killed. Many praised Ant-iguess' tenacity and his constructions, but others were seemingly left baffled. “I could never do this in non-hardcore, you hardcore players are a different… breed,” one person commented on Ant-iguess' post. Photos included in the post showed the incredible megastructures and vistas Ant-iguess was able to create within that time. These included a building found in the hell-like Netherworld dimension that was made out of Obsidian, as well as massivefarms forMinecraft’s various mobs.
Ant-iguess' 12,000-day run, however, could have an anticlimactic end as the player is now expecting to “die in the stupidest way possible.” While Ant-iguess' statement was seemingly made as a joke, such a thing could actually happen. As an example,Minecraftstreamer btecbill_’s Hardcore mode run endedaccidentally after 4,317-days when he made a small mistake.
Despite offering such a harsh gameplay experience, many players who seek a challenge continue to play Hardcore Mode. Those looking to emulate Ant-iguess' success could benefit from listening to whatevertips on survivingMinecraft’s Hardcore Modethey and other longtime players have, which can generally be summed up as simply “don’t die.”
