Capcom has released the latest patch for the popularMonster Hunter Rise, which contains bug fixes and updates to enhance the game.Since its Nintendo Switch release in March 2021,Monster Hunter Risecontinues to be successful commercially and is well regarded by both critics and players worldwide. The update also contains a number of bug fixes, including a bug where there was no defense bonus for the Switch Axe Defender weapon, which was a particular hindrance during thehardest fights inMonster Hunter Rise. For players to use DLC and play online,Monster Hunter Risewill need to be updated to this latest version.
The update’s release coincides with the title featuring as a free Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial from March 11th to March 17th, and Capcom will likely be keen for an influx of new players over this period. This update also comes shortly before Capcom reveals further information about the highly anticipatedMonster Hunter Riseexpansion setSunbreak, which is scheduled for a digital event on March 15th. Fans have already seen details of some new monsters and Silkbind attacks, and will be hoping to see a release as fully featured as theIceborneexpansion set for the previous title in the series,Monster Hunter World.
Many players will be pleased to see updates to improve the game’s quality nearly a year after the initial release. In particular, the weekly Event Quests mean there will be regular new content for them to enjoy - particularly those who have been playing the game since launch. Some fans may wish to see more significant changes, however, including new weapons, as have been recently introduced tosimilar titles, such asDestiny 2. Further quality of life changes could also be implemented, such as improving the accessibility of the game to players new to the genre, who can be overwhelmed with the often complex controls and crafting options available.
