My Hero Academia’slatest chapter marked the beginning of 2023 in quite some fashion. Fans had been waiting for the release of the chapter in extra anticipation, thanks to how brilliantly the previous chapter ended. This week, fans continued to get anoverview of the final war, however, this time, things started getting worse for the Heroes. Just as All For One previously mentioned, the emergence of Kurogiri meant that the tides shifted heavily in the favor of the villains.

He is a difference maker, after all, and when coupled with the other members of the Paranormal Liberation Front who possess powerful Quirks, victory looks all but certain. WhileMy Hero Academia 377did not progress a lot of fights, it certainly gave quite an overview to the fans andpainted a picture of the current shape of the battlefield.
Aizawa’s Powers Stopped
Taking on All For One at his best would have been impossible for all the Heroes. As such, they had to develop countermeasures, and the chapter went into great detail from the very beginning into that. It was established that due to the overwhelming numbers of Villains, the Heroes decided to split them up and fight them in a tactical manner that allows them to subdue them efficiently. However, since Kurogiri has now awakened, things have changed quite a lot.With his Quirk, he was able to get to the likes of Toga and even Dabi, as seen in the last few chapters. Toga has made use of her transform ability and taken the form of her old friend Twice, even making use of his Quirk to create a huge amount of clones of herself and spreading them all over the battlefield.
This has completely changed the state of the battle and, in My Hero Academia 377, disrupted the mission that was given to Aizawa and Monoma. Both of them were using the Erasure Quirk to keep Shigaraki Tomura in check. Now, thanks to all the doubles created by Toga, their abilities have been stopped and Shigaraki is now free to do as he likes.
Deku Vs. Shigaraki Continues
My Hero Academia 377 also focused a bit on Deku’s fight against Shigaraki. As the many clones of Twice emerged from the portal that Kurogiri opened up, Aizawa lost focus and this allowed for Shigaraki to use his powers to the fullest. Now, things will be quite a lot more complicated for Deku, who was enjoying a big advantage in their fight up until this point and had cornered his foe already. Shigaraki appears to be in his senses at the moment. Previously, fans saw Deku request to be allowed to talk to the actual Shigaraki as his body was being taken over by All For One.

He also questioned the latter about his intentions as they are enemies and are thus fated to fight against one another. At the same time, things appear to be worsening for Deku as he’s suffering from shortness of breath. As fans know already, every new Quirk that he awakens takes its toll on him and now that he has been using the abilities of Transmission for quite a while, it has started to take its toll on his body and made breathing very difficult for him. That said, Deku has the support of the vestiges of One For All. And, thanks to the resonance of the two Quirks, now is the time for them to hold an honest conversation with one another. Provided that Deku is able to turn Shigaraki, the tides of this battle could turn against All For One.
La Brava Emerges
The end of My Hero Academia 377 was rather shocking. Thanks to the many members of the Paranormal Liberation Front, the UA is completely under their control. This worsened things for the Heroes as they would ideally want control of the island and be able to protect their numbers. With the Paranormal Liberation Front having taken control, all this was made extremely hard. That is where the biggest surprise of the chapter popped up in the form of La Brava. Fans remember her from the Gentle Criminal arc, which took place long ago, around the time of the UA Cultural Festival. As many fans would remember, Gentle Criminal used to upload videos and La Brava was his sidekick.
Her Quirk is immensely powerfuland fans have already seen what it is capable of. That is not her only ability. She’s also very tech-savvy and, as seen in the chapter, started taking control of UA and tracking down the members responsible for the hack itself. Thanks to her, things will now become much easier for the Heroes as the members of the Paranormal Liberation Front responsible for this will be dealt with immediately. La Brava also mentions that whatever she is doing is for the sake of none other than Gentle himself.
