AnApex Legendsleak has surfaced that suggests the upcoming Season 16 might bring along a new SMG. Weapons play a big role in a battle royale game likeApex Legends. While the game has been around for a long time, the weaponry has stayed fairly static over the past few seasons.Apex Legendsdeveloper has focused on making balance adjustmentsrather than releasing new weapons, but this might be about to change.
Apex Legendsis a futuristic first-person shooter set in the same universe asTitanfalland developed by Respawn Entertainment. It is a battle royale game, including the classic shrinking play area, with hero-based gameplay. Currently, the game has 23 Legends with various passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities, and over 30 weapons and explosives to equip.Apex Legendsis in its Season 15, which started at the beginning of November.

A new leak has been uncovered that might make Season 16 more interesting than most others. In a video that has since been removed,Apex LegendsYouTuber Grrt shared a take on a skin that was spotted on a cosmetics site. Alongside skins for weaponry that was already in the game, there was one that didn’t fit the picture. It was of a weapon that wasn’t yet announced. It was a fairly compact weapon, which shares some likeliness with other weapons in the game but is distinctly different. The listing on the website has been removed since it was noticed.
This isn’t the first time new weapons have been suggested by leaks. Earlier this year,a massiveApex Legendsleak exposed plans regarding many aspects of the game, including Legends, maps, and weapons. In this leak were five weapons, two of which were assumed to be SMGs. While it’s obviously too early to tell, the newly-leaked gun could be one of these, Maelstrom or Gemini. It’s also very possible that it’s a weapon model and skin that was designed and later scratched.
The latest addition toApex Legendsweaponry was the C.A.R. SMG. Introduced in Season 11, over a year ago, it has some unique features that make it a very viable choice. It is the only weapon that can use both Light and Heavy Rounds and can also be enhanced with either Extended Light or Heavy Mag. Considering that the last gun addition was for SMGs, and it is the only category with five different weapons, there’s a chance that this leaked gun might not be introduced. However, only time will tell.
