Reception to the Los Muertos skins has been quite positive overall. While fans were not especially charmed by them initially, the fact they change colors, paired with the unique SFX, has convinced some players to pick them up. However, many are confused as to why Soldier: 76 and Junkrat received these weapons instead ofOverwatch 2heroes Reaper, Illari, or Sombra – all of which have connections to countries that celebrate the Day of the Dead. These fans hopeOverwatch 2makes Los Muertos weapon skins for these characters in the future as well, especially since Reaper and Sombra have several skins that would pair excellently with them.
These unique new weapon skins may be another step inOverwatch 2’s path to creating new types of Mythic cosmetics.
