Production on Marvel Studios and Sony’s thirdSpider-Manfilm has beenunderway in Atlanta, Georgia for nearly a month. Now, a video taken from the set of the highly-anticipated film offers viewers a behind-the-scenes preview of one of the stunts performed by Tom Holland’s wall-crawler.
ThroughoutSpider-Man: Homecoming, the first joint production between Marvel Studios and Sony, Holland’s Peter Parker was too infatuated with Liz Allen to notice Zendaya’s Michelle “MJ” Jones. However, the relationship between Parker and MJ had developed into a full-blown romance by the end of the sequel,Spider-Man: Far From Home. What the future holds for the young loversin the third film is unclear, though it will likely be shaped by how the public responds toFar From Homeantagonist Mysterio posthumouslyrevealing the wall-crawler’s true identityto the world.

What is clear is thatthe nextSpider-Manfilmwill feature at least one sequence in which MJ and the web-slinger will have to swing into action, as evidenced by the recently surfaced set video. In the footage, Spider-Man is seen briefly conversing with someone, presumably MJ based on the individual’s attire, before grabbing her and leaping into the air. Because the video was shot from a distance, it is unclear if the two performers are actually Holland and Zendaya or stunt performers. However, both individuals are clearly shown standing on a blue shipping container that is being elevated in the air while a blue screen can also be seen in the surrounding area, suggesting at least portions of the outdoor location will be altered digitally.
Holland and Zendaya will be joined by returning co-stars Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and Marisa Tomei forSpider-Man 3.Furthermore,Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro, one of the primary antagonists of Sony’sThe Amazing Spider-Man, whose inclusion might be explained by the involvement of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. The future Sorcerer Supreme will reportedly take over the role of Spider-Man’s mentor that had previously been filled by Tony Stark inHomecomingand Nick Fury inFar From Home.
Prior to theSpider-Man 3casting announcements, rumors suggestedKraven the Hunterwould be the lead nemesis of the third film. While this could still a possibility, fans are more than likely hoping Marvel Studios and Sony won’t repeat the mistakes of Sam Raimi’s thirdSpider-Manfilm by overstuffing the sequel with too many villains.
On a related note, Raimi will also be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe team behind the scenes as the director ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Cumberbatch will begin filming theDoctor Strangesequel upon completing his work on theSpider-Mansequel.
Marvel Studios’Spider-Man 3is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 07, 2025.
