Warframe’s latest update entitled Angels of Zariman is here, and it’s bringing a substantial amount of new content for fans to sink their teeth into. Expanding on the players' origins, introducing a 49th new warframe, and adding new weapons and mission types, the update promises much to explore in this new chapter ofWarframehistory.

Warframewas first released in March of 2013, and Digital Extremes' addicting blend of fast-paced parkour andDestiny-like looter-shootermechanics proved to be a massive success with a Very Positive rating on Steam based on half a million reviews. With an accessible free-to-play model, a huge variety of weapons and equipment to collect, a robust customization system, and an evolving story,Warframehas kept its players entertained for nearly a decade with regular new additions. The gameplay, story, and combat system have been continuously improved upon over the years, with each big update bringing something significant into the fold.

Angels of Zariman expands on the story by taking players, known as Tenno, back to where it all started. Players will explore the Zariman Ten-Zero, a massive and ancient colony ship from the long-gone Orokin civilization. This ship is where the Tenno get their name, a combination of the words ten and zero. Tenno will encounter new enemies aboard this relic spaceship as they come face to face with their origins. The newest and 49th warframe, Gyre “the dancing spark,” also debuts with this update and is focused on dealing electricity damage by throwing spheres of energy and can turn invisible briefly while dodge-rolling. Gyre should prove to be another unique addition to the game’smassive arsenal of warframes.

Along with the new warframe and equipment is the addition of customizable Dormizones, player habitats that can be decorated and customized, as well as expanded with additional rooms. For fans ofWarframe’s deep customization options, new options have been made available in the form of Voidshell Adornment skins: appearances for Saryn, Volt, and Rhino in the shape of strange material formed from the tragic Zariman Void Jump. Elite Eximus enemies have also been reworked, with a new set of rewards and visuals to help identify them on the battlefield. Focus schools for operators have also been revamped to make each more unique, so players will get to reallocate their focus points to experience the new changes.

There’s a lot to look forward to in this update, and players will likely be very busy working on unlocking Gyre as well as mastering the new weapons and carefully decorating their Dormizones. Since the game is free-to-play and has recently been receiving a lot of reworks for various systems, now is a good time for new players to hop in, play through the story, and start unlockingWarframe’s many available weapons, appearances, and features.

Warframeis available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
