Vivi is a dedicated young woman who’s always willing to go to any lengths to protect her home country. She also cares deeply about all the Straw Hats, especially Nami. Just like every other member of the crew, her clothes hide some of the most intriguing facts about her character.
8Her Debut Outfit
Vivi’s very first appearance was inOne Piecechapter 103 of the manga, which would equate to episode 62 in the anime. Interestingly, she started as an enemy of the crew, going under the name Miss Wednesday, with her acolyte Mister 9, both working underBaroque Works for Sir Crocodile.
As her outfit for her debut, she wore a light green jacket, added to which were some white shorts and boots. To compliment them, Vivi wore a black and purple striped top. She also wore a belt that could also be used as a weapon, as seen during the Whiskey Peak arc, and later on in the Alabasta Saga.
7Controversy
The outfit fans associate with Vivi during her time as Miss Wednesday was actually quite different in the manga when compared to the anime. Indeed, in her debut in theOne Piecechapter 103 in the Whiskey Peak arc, there’s a glaring difference in her outfit when compared to the anime.
Instead of the striped top that anime watchers saw her wear, Vivi wore one that had a spiral pattern on the chest. This change was made due to the outfit being deemed controversial and supposedly too daring, as it sexualized her figure. One Pieceoften comes under fire for its sexualized designs so this was a curious choice made by the anime.
6Peacock And String Slashers
As with any outfit, accessories are essential in making the character stand out, and in Vivi’s case, it’s her Peacock Slasher or Kujjaki Slasher. This weapon is made of small jewelry shaped like peacock feathers, attached to a wire.

The superior version to this weapon is what Vivi calls the Peacock String Slasher and she is known to wear it as a belt around her waist. To make use of these weapons, she wraps the wire around her pinky finger and spins them incredibly fast, thus creating a slicing disk.
5Her Color
Vivi’s main color has never been confirmed by Eiichiro Oda, the author ofOne Piece. However, from her many outfits and designs, it can be assumed that her color is most likely either white, blue, or pink.
These seem to be her most recurring colors in her wardrobe, and they’re very apparent, especially in her pre-time skip Princess of Alabasta outfit that she wore at end of the Alabasta arc. When she wavedthe Straw Hat pirate crewgoodbye with the iconic X on the left arm, she was donned in the color white.
4Her Post-Timeskip Outfit
After the time skip, Vivi seems to really have embraced her role as the Princess of Alabasta, and now dresses accordingly to match her status. Her new outfit was first seen in episode 777 of the anime called “Reverie e - Oujou Vivi to Shirahoshi-hime de,” where she took off on a boat leaving Alabasta to head to the Reverie. Along with her were some other rulers, likeShirahoshi, princess of Fishman Island, Vivi was accompanied by her father, King Cobra, and her loyal pet Karoo. Standing in the crow’s nest, she was seen wearing a long pink dress. What’s more, on her shoulders, she donned a flowing red cape. Vivi also changed her hairstyle quite a bit and was seen wearing some new golden accessories.
3Karoo
Vivi’s loyal pet and mount has always been a key part of her character. Karoo is a duck – to be more specific, a super spot-billed duck who is considered to be one of the fastest and most reliable modes of transportation in Alabasta. Just like Vivi, he had infiltrated Baroque Works alongside Igaram in hopes of freeing Alabasta from the clutches of Sir Crocodile. His regular outfit consists of a saddle for Vivi or any other person who mounts him when in need of his services. Further, he also wears a blue helmet with some white and pink highlights. Karoo is almost always seen carrying a water gourd as he needs to stay hydrated.

2Princess
Nefertari Vivi is not only an honorary member ofLuffy’s Straw Hat Pirates, but also the Princess of the Alabasta kingdom. During her debut, she rarely wore anything indicative of her high rank as royalty. Usually, she was seen wearing shirts coupled with either pants or shorts. However, as the story progressed and fans got closer to the end of the Alabasta Saga, her wardrobe changed quite a bit.
This was due to her having freed the country and, consequently, finally being able to dress like she wanted to. Before the time skip, she wore a white dress with some golden accessories, and a pink scarf around her shoulders. After the timeskip, she wore a pink dress and red cape, however, her overall style hasn’t changed much.
1Belly Dancer
During the Alabasta arc, Vivi and Nami are given some clothes to wear by Sanji. As expected of his usual perverse nature, he ends up getting them a belly dancer outfit.
Both Vivi and Nami donned these clothes for quite a while until the final segment of the arc kicked off. Vivi, in particular, was seen wearing a purple and pink bra top, and a long, flowing, light blue skirt, with some motif resembling her top. To add to that, she also wore a long white veil over her shoulders.
