After the war of Wano,One Pieceis now its final Sagaand the current events of the story have greatly narrowed down the number of pirates in the hunt for theOne Piece. That being said, the strongest of the pirates are now also gathered in this race and the treasure is closer than it ever was before.

Those who havethe most Road Poneglyphsare, naturally, the closest to theOne Piece, however, in a battle between pirates, treasure, as well as Poneglyphs are always on the line. In the last stretch ofOne Piece, only a handful can be truly called pirates who are in the running for the grandest treasure of all.
5Luffy
The protagonist ofOne Piece, Luffy has come a long way after setting sail on a dinghy from the East Blue. He has established the Straw Hat Pirates and made it so that the crew is now recognized as one of the strongest on the seas. After taking down Kaido, Luffy is now recognized as a Yonko and the Straw Hat Crew has become an Emperor crew as well.
When it comes to the Road Poneglyphs, Luffy has three of the four and the only one he is missing is the one currently in possession ofthe Man with the Burn Scar. Out of all the candidates fighting for theOne Piece, Luffy is, by far, the man closest to it and he is also the one who will eventually get to it since he is the main character.
4Shanks
Shanks is an incredibly important characterinOne Pieceand now that the story is and its final stage, he has come into play more than ever before. Shanks is the pirate who set Luffy out on the journey to becoming the Pirate King. While his role appeared to be just that for the vast majority of the story, it is now growing as he finally decided to stop being a mediator and step into the great game himself. After the war of Wano, where Kaido and Big Mom fell, Shanks declared that it is time for him to go claim the One Piece.
When it comes to the Road Ponelyphs, he recently received two from Eustass Kid. These are the Road Poneglyphs that the Big Mom Pirates had and the one that was hidden under Wano. This leaves Shanks with two that he needs to attain and one of them is the Road Poneglyph on Zou, while the other is in possession of the Man with the Burn Scar. Shanks is pretty close to theOne Piece, however, he certainly is not the closest.
3Blackbeard
Blackbeard has always been in quest for theOne Pieceand he made quite an impressive start to his pirating career. Starting his journey only recently after stealing the Yami Yami no Mi, Blackbeard established his crew and has, since then, ascended to the throne of an Emperor himself. He recently got his hands on at least two Road Poneglyphs. These would be the point of Zou and the Poneglyph of Wano.

Law was with the Straw Hat Pirates when the Road Poneglyph of Zou was revealed to the fans and there is no reason why he should not have that copy and, at the same time, he managed to take the copy of the Road Poneglyph from Wano Country as well. Blackbeard could also have Big Mom’s Poneglyph as Augur and Kuzan infiltrated Whole Cake Island recently. This means that the only Poneglyph that he now needs is the one in possession of the Man with the Burn Scar.
2Buggy
Buggy is also one of the Yonko of theOne Pieceworld and although he is the weakest, his influence goes far and wide. He has powerful underlings such as Mihawk and Crocodile, among others. While they are not as powerful as a full-blown Yonko crew, they are still quite capable. Buggy’s Cross Guild recently declared that they are now setting out in the quest for theOne Piece. He doesn’t seem to have any of the Road Poneglyphs at the moment, however, as Buggy mentioned himself, to get to theOne Piece,he doesn’t need to be the strongest.
It is a race he just has to win and, given how smart he is, he’s more than capable of figuring a way out to theOne Piece.Fans should absolutely not be surprised if Buggy doesn’t end up becoming the Pirate King at the end of the day.
1Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law, one of the members of the Worst Generation, is also aiming for theOne Piece. Although he was recently destroyed in a fight against the Blackbeard Pirates andhad to abandon the majority of his crew, Law managed to escape from this encounter with his life intact. At the same time, he also carries the dream of finding out about the Will of the D and, for that reason, fans must remember that he will eventually get to the root of the mystery.
As mentioned by Bepo, the Heart Pirates will survive and regroup once again and, perhaps, after that, Law will try to fight for theOne Pieceonce again. For what it’s worth, it must be remembered that the portrayal of Kid’s annihilation and Law’s defeat were very different and Law might have one more push left in him.
