Summary
While in the practice range, oneOverwatch 2player notices that the Junker Queen is the only character in the game to not have a blinking animation. The amount of playable characters available to use inOverwatch 2continues to expand through various seasonal updates, such as the addition of the tank hero Mauga. Taking the base roster from the first game,Overwatch 2began with a handful of new characters including the Junker Queen, a tank class character which quickly became one of the more popular character choices.
With an ever expanding roster of new characters, Blizzard included a newly revamped training area inOverwatch 2, allowing players to practice and hone their skills before jumping online. One of the newer additions was the practice range, which allowed players to hone their skills against various training bots, test out their ultimate abilities, or explore other parts of the map, including a firing range. The mode also allowed players to call in a practice buddy, essentially a character selector that can be used to select from any of the currently available heroes. While playing around with this feature, oneOverwatch 2player discovered a strange detail that only applies to the Junker Queen.
Overwatch 2’s Junker Queen Doesn’t Blink
In a new post on theOverwatchsubReddit, a user named LiliacRosee revealed a strange detail about the Junker Queen after viewing all character idle animations. In a short video clip, it seems that the Junker Queen is the only one, outside some of the Omnic characters, that does not actually blink at all. As the clip shows, after using theOverwatch 2Practice Range practice buddy feature, Junker Queen simply stares straight ahead whether standing still or performing idle animations without ever blinking.
The strange discovery kicked off a ton of jokes inside of the comments, with many saying that the detail actually feels appropriate for someone like her and the otherJunkertown residents like Roadhog and Junkrat. Others joked that the black makeup is actually just eye bags, while her red eyes were actually due to them being extremely dry from never blinking.
While the minor detail is odd, it isn’t the firststrange Junker Queen element found by theOverwatch 2community. A few months after the game first launched, fans began to notice that the metallic kneepad on Junker Queen actually resembled Zenyatta’s face, with many unsure if this was deliberate or a case of seeing something that’s not actually there. The details of the kneepad seem to be more than a coincidence though, as it features the three dots on the Omnic foreheads, two slits for the eyes, though the scratched “X” mark isn’t common, with many assuming that if it is an Omnic face, the “X” was likely added after by the Junker Queen.
