Overwatchfans have come up with some memorable hero concepts over the years, designing characters that they would like to see in the memorable universe Blizzard has created. One artisticOverwatchplayer has done something a bit different, however, as they have made new heroes using characteristics from some existing ones.
Usually,Overwatchhero concepts fall into one of two categories. The first sees minor characters from the lore being made into proper heroes, with players sharing moveset concepts forfigures like Maximilienand the Junker Queen. Aside from coming up with in-game abilities for background characters, clever players have designed entirely original heroes. These characters have their own looks, stories, and kits. Intriguingly, Reddit user Sylvaurr has combined both styles of these styles for their breathtaking “fusion heroes.”

While the heroes designed by theOverwatchplayer are original, they use parts from Mercy, Moira, and Mei in their designs. Alongside the concepts, the fan has shared some gorgeous artwork of their heroes that can be seenhere. The first of these hybrid characters combines Moira and Mercy to make a four-armed hero called Panacea. Her clothes are a mix between the two characters’ outfits, and she has Moira’s red hair alongside Mercy’s halo. Her abilities function mostly like Moira’s, though she can glide and use her extra arms to damage boost and heal her allies.
The next concept is Genesis, a hybrid hero that combinesMercyand Echo. Echo’s high-tech body makes for a sleek white suit, while Mercy’s blonde hair and her angelic theming are retained in the concept art. A visor covers her face, while her wings are a perfect blend of Echo and Mercy’s. Genesis wields an upgraded version of the Caduceus Staff, with the weapon healing and damaging at the same time. She is also more mobile due to the advanced wings, though she would lack the resurrect ability. The Redditor mentions that she would be more optimistic than even Tracer, a clear difference form Panacea’s stiffness.
Rounding out the list ofOverwatchcreations is Resonance, the Echo andMoirahybrid. The suit combines white, black, and purple for a memorable color scheme, while a grey-haired Moira is seen alongside a mask that resembles Echo’s face. According to Sylvaurr’s breakdown, the character would be humorous and curious but not necessarily evil. She would also play like Baptiste according to her creator, dealing serious damage for a Support character.
With Sylvaurr putting so much effort into the art for their characters, as well as some thought clearly going into their original characters’Overwatchlore, it is no surprise that the post has received over 4,000 upvotes. While these hybrid heroes will never become official, the fan deserves all the praise they are getting for their hard work.
