Fortunately, there are a handful of places on the newSakurajima Island and even the Palpagos Islands that are perfect for setting up a dedicated Crude Oil Base.

Those who look for faster progression in the game will have to use other players' experiences early on, as it helps a lot with finding the best locations to set up a base with little necessity to travel around the world for rare resources.
Best Crude Oil Base Locations
When setting up a Crude Oil base, you’ll want to focus onlocations withtwo or more crude oil deposits close together. These spots allow you to place more Crude Oil Extractors and maximize your oil production. Here are some of the best locations to set up your Crude Oil Base.
Sakurajima – Northwest
The Sakurajima Northwest region is a well-rounded option for your Crude Oil base as it comes withtwo Crude Oil deposits. These fields are significantly far apart, allowing you to place multiple Crude Oil Extractors. It is also located on higher ground, which automatically gives youprotection against raids.
Additionally, this location gives you more building freedom. Thearea is relatively open, providing ample space to construct your base efficiently. It is also home toseveral Stone, Sulfur, and Coal nodes, which is a big advantage, as these resources are often needed alongside Crude Oil for crafting.

Several Kikits spawn in the north of Sakurajima Island. These Pals are known to drop one or two Crude Oil when killed, which can further boost your oil reserves.
Sakurajima – Central
Located in the central region of Sakurajima Island is another prime spot for a Crude Oil base. This area also hastwo Crude Oil fieldswith a significant distance between them, allowing you to set uptwo Crude Oil Extractorstomaximize your oil production.
Besides this, the area hasscattered stone and coal deposits, and even some Treasure Chests, giving you a chance to score additional resources alongside your oil collection. This combination of readily available Crude Oil and the potential for extra goodies makes Sakurajima’s central region a tempting location for a Crude Oil farm base.

Sakurajima – East
This spot in Sakurajima’s east region is the top pick for a Crude Oil base since it combines functionality with aesthetics. Not only does this spot havetwo Crude Oil fields, but it is also home toseveral Mushroom Trees, which canprovideMushrooms. These can act as a passive source of food for your base.
Additionally, theflat groundallows for easy base construction, so you can get those Power Generators running. There’senough space to buildother stuff, like a Mining Station, which can turn your base into a resource-farming powerhouse. It’s also shielded by a cliff on one side, which makes itsafe against most enemy raids.

Sakurajima – Southeast
Moving a little bit to the Southwest from the previous location mentioned, there are even more mushroom trees and one Crude Oil field in this area, serving as a great spot to build a base with no need for a farm, as the abundance of mushroom trees will provide enough food for the entire Pals.
The weather is normal and clear, so players will not need access to certain heat or cold resistance gear to endure the extreme temperature, which is a big plus for building a base. Despite all this, Level 50+ enemies could be a bit difficult to deal with for players lacking a good enough combat build.

Mount Obsidian
This spot on the far west side of the volcanic region is hands-down the best location for farming Crude Oil. There arethree Crude Oil depositshere, more than any other location inPalworld. Withroom for three Extractors and a relatively low Pal presence, Mount Obsidian lets youset up your base peacefullyand boost your Crude Oil reserves. Since there aren’t many Pals around, you do not have to worry about constant interruptions or the need for extensive defense measures.
As an added bonus, you can findScorching Eggsin the vicinity, which can hatch into powerful fire-type Pals. However, you’ll need to equip yourself withheat-resistant armorbefore venturing near the lava when setting up your base.

Pristine Snow Field
For those who prefer a bit of a challenge and a scenic change, there’s a spot on Astral Mountain that is a perfect location for a Crude Oil base: thePristine Snow Field. This location comprisestwo Crude Oil depositsthat are situated a little far from each other, allowing you toplace multiple Extractors.
Additionally, this icy biome is a hotspot for farmingPure Quartz, a vital resource for crafting Circuit Boards for Power Generators. These generators can be used for powering your Crude Oil Extractors, ultimatelyincreasing resource efficiency.
Another bonus is that the Pristine Snow Field has anearbyFast Travel pointwhich makes frequent base visits convenient. Plus, the surrounding icy environment is a natural habitat forIce Pals.The only drawback is that you’ll need toequip proper cold resistance armorto avoid freezing while building your base.

Dessicated Desert – West
Aside from featuring two Crude Oil fields, this location is also a haven for every player looking to farm some coal, as there are several coal mines around. The temperature is quite high, which makes it almost impossible to endure in this region without the right equipment, but the enemies are at the same level as other oil fields in the Palpagos Islands.
Finding food in this region is more difficult, so it is not recommended to set up a base here, but there are indeed enough trees to be chopped down by Pals. Overall, Sakurajima still offers the best overall conditions, but for under-level players, the Crude Oil fields in the Dessicated Desert could be easier to farm.
