Summary
APokemonfan artist took to social media to post their creation of a ground-type Regi and revealed the inspiration behind the design of this legendary golem Pokemon. Following their post, otherPokemonfans chimed in to compliment the artist for following through with the design after seeing what the inspiration behind it was.
Starting withPokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the legendary titans known as the Regis are a group of golem Pokemon that have become a recurring staple in the series as a post-game activity. While Regirock, Regice, and Registeel made their debut in the Hoenn region, two newer Regis named Regieleki and Regidrago appeared in The Crown Tundra DLC forPokemon Sword and Shield. Despite their unique designs, the legendary golems share some distinct characteristics. These single-type Pokemon have braille-like patterns on their bodies, and all but one Regi has had a base stat total of 580. Thelone exception is Regigigas, the “master” of these legendary golems, which has a base stat total of 670, making it one of the most powerful Legendary Pokemon at the time of writing. Though there are only six official Regis, one Pokemon fan sought to make another.
On Reddit, aPokemonfan named Kelpo911 took to the r/Pokemon subreddit to post their interpretation of a Ground-type Regi. This creation was dubbed “Regiroad” by the OP, who explained where they got the inspiration from. Thoughother types of Regis have been dreamed up byPokemonfans, Regiroad’s design was taken from two diamond-shaped road signs that another Redditor named Stuffydude_yt saw. The top sign had nine red dots, and the bottom sign had two arrows pointed downwards and to the left and the right. As for Regiroad itself, the Ground-type Pokemon had the arms of Registeel, and looked similar to a unicycle. The red dots from the aforementioned sign were used for Regiroad’s braille-like face, albeit with seven dots. The arrow sign was split into two, with at least one arrow pointing upwards.
For their work, the OP was complimented byPokemonfans. One user commented that somehow, the design just worked for a ground-type Regi if one were to exist. Between fan-made designs of different types of legendary golems andParadox forms of existing Regis, only time will tell what will spawn next from the imagination ofPokemonfans.
WithThe Crown Tundra DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violetarriving on December 14, there have been debates amongPokemonfans over which past Legendary Pokemon will return. It remains to be seen if the Regis will be among them.
