Summary
An artistically skilledPokemonfan is continuing their line of impressive custom Tera forms with the Unova Starter trio of Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott. While the basePokemon Scarlet and Violetalready introduced a new transformation mechanic with its crystal-like Terastallization forms, rumor has it thatthe forthcomingHidden Treasure of Area ZeroDLCwill add another evolution type more in-line with previous ones like Mega Evolutions. These Tera forms will supposedly give certain Pokemon powerful new bodies and abilities to help them in battle.
Naturally, some fans have started to wonder what these rumoredPokemon Scarlet and VioletTera forms will look like, and a Reddit user by the handle of Colmlukas has been drawing inspired prototype versions of the third-stage evolutions for every Starter Pokemon. They have been releasing these drawings in batches based on eachPokemongeneration, starting with the original line-up ofVenusaur, Charizard, and Blastoiseand working their way up to Generation 4’s Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon.

Comlukas has now made their way to the Generation 5 Starter trio ofPokemon Black and White, posting their hypothetical Tera forms for Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott on r/pokemon earlier this week. Just like the rest ofComlukas’s Tera Pokemondesigns, the appearances of these Pokemon are changed in various ways: Grass-type Serperior now has larger leaves on its back and tail, the fiery Emboar is slimmer and sports a more subdued color scheme, and the water-dwelling Samurott now stands upright and wields a sword-like point on its right arm.
Every mainlinePokemongame gives players the option of selecting aGrass, Fire, or Water Starter Pokemonas their first creature, and 2010’sPokemon Black and Whiteare no different. Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott serve as the final evolutionary stages of Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott respectively. All three have made appearances in thePokemongenerations after their debut games, with Samurott even getting a Water/Dark Hisui region variant in last year’sPokemon Legends: Arceus. Samurott was also the subject of a Tera Raid event inPokemon Scarlet and Violetback in March.
The alternate Tera evolutions mentioned in the recentPokemonDLC rumors haven’t been officially confirmed yet, but they have certainly sparked the imaginations of fans like Comlukas. Their line-up of custom Starter Tera forms has been met with high praise so far, and they do a phenomenal job of honoring the original designs of the featured Starter evolutions while putting a new spin on them. If Comlukas keeps things up, it likely won’t be long before fans see their take on the Starters of the Kalos, Alola, Galar, and PaldeaPokemonregions.
