Despite the games being at least months away from their release,Pokemon ScarletandVioletis already inspiring fans to create art. The vast majority ofPokemon ScarletandVioletart comes in the form of the highly-anticipated titles' new starters, of which little information remains public.
The three starters are completely new Pokemon: Fire-type Fuecoco, Grass-type Sprigatito, and Water-type Quaxly. With only their starting evolutions revealed, fans have started their own wild theories, with hopes that Sprigatito remains quadrupedal andQuaxly evolving into a version of Donald Duck.

Posted onto r/pokemon, a user by the name of Tapclay is amassing thousands of likes for their incredible rendition of newPokemon ScarletandVioletstarter Quaxly. The series of images showcases the duck-like Pokemon in a sitting position, just about everything looks like a perfect recreation of the images released thus far. From the bright blue that makes up its feet and crest on its head to the bright white body and yellow beak, the coloring is spot-on. The sculpture appears entirely proportional as well, including subtle details like the chest fluff and wing/feet shape.
Pokemonfans have been quick to laud the artist’s creation, with things like “adorable” “cute” and “very well done” populating the post’s comments. While Quaxly’s debut title is expected to shake up the long-running franchise’s usual formula, one fan has potentially discovered amajor change forPokemon ScarletandViolet’s Pokemon Centers. In looking at the released screenshots forScarletandViolet’s major cities, a Redditor named Wlsgarus points out what appears to be a Pokemon Center kiosk. Should they be correct, it would mark a major shift from the way the vital feature has functioned in every game prior.
While clay is becoming a popular medium forPokemonfans, it’s not the only material Quaxly’s been made out of as of late. On the same page as the clay model, another fan is getting plenty of attention for theirLEGO version of Quaxly. Despite the nature of the material, the artist manages to replicate many of the Water-types soft curves. The fact there are numerous artworks of characters that players know almost nothing about in a game that isn’t event out yet is a testament to how passionate and creative thePokemonfanbase truly is.
While Game Freak and The Pokemon Company have remained tight-lipped regarding more news onPokemon ScarletandViolet’s starters, fans are designing incredible final evolutionsof their own. It should be interesting to see if any of the fan-made ideas end up being close to the real thing.
Pokemon ScarletandVioletis expected to launch late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
