The augmented reality mobile gamePokemon GOhas been around for nearly six years, and it still has a strong. Niantic and The Pokemon Company have utilized the popularity of the mobile game well, even going as far as tocross it over with thePokemon Trading Card Game. As of June 2022, there are over 730 Pokemon currently in the game, with the current National Pokedex tally standing at 898 - up to those fromPokemon SwordandShield.
Pokemon GOrecently began rolling out more creatures from the Alola region, with more being released duringPokemon GOFest 2022. Although the game has released plenty of fan-favorite Pokemon so far across eight generations, there are still plenty of monsters that are missing from the roster.

Gen 3: Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald
Despite the region’s first members being introduced back in 2017, there is still one Pokemon missing from thePokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emeraldcollection. Considered one of the most illusive Pokemon from Generation 3, the chameleon PokemonKecleon is still missing inPokemon GO.
Gen 4: Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum
There are three Pokemon missing from Generation 4, with Shaymin becoming the most recent release. Shaymin’s Land Forme became available through the Pokemon GO Fest 2022 paid special research in early June. Niantic has also announced that its Sky Forme will become available through paidSpecial Research for Pokemon GO Fest 2022starting July 1, but just a few others are still unavailable in any form.
Gen 5: Pokemon Black and White
First introduced in 2019, 152 out of the total 156 Pokemon introduced inGeneration 5 have appeared forPokemon GO. FromPokemon BlackandWhitegames (including their respective sequels), there are a total of four Pokemon still missing from the game:

Gen 6: Pokemon X and Y
Pokemon XandYlaunched with a total of 72 new Pokemon being introduced to the ever-expanding Pokedex - bringing the known total from 649 to 721. AlthoughGeneration 6 was first properly introduced toPokemon GOat the end of 2020, there are still 17 total Pokemon missing from the overall roster.
Gen 7: Pokemon Sun and Moon
Pokemon GOonly added Generation 7 beginning in March of this year, so there is still a large number missing from the game as of June 2022. Currently, most Ultra Beasts are also unavailable, although Pheromosa, Buzzwole, and Xurkitree have been announced forPokemon GO Fest 2022 ticketholders.
Gen 8: Pokemon Sword and Shield
Although plenty of Pokemon from previous generations are still missing,Pokemon GOcontinues to add new generations. Niantic hasn’t officially rolled out the creatures fromPokemon SwordandShield,except for regional variants, Legendaries, and a handful of others like Dubwool and Falinks, so there are 76 Pokemon that have yet to appear inPokemon GO.
