Niantic and The Pokemon Company releasedPokemon GOback in 2016, but there are still some quality of life changes that the game would benefit from. One particular improvement was recently mentioned by a Pokemon fan who wants better PokeStops.
A Reddit user known as Ljgillzl recently posted their grievances aboutPokemon GOand it’s gaining traction among members of the community. Ljgillzl specifically wants to see changes to the PokeStops for when a player’s bag is full. ThePokemon GOfan suggests that Niantic should still reward players who have full bags with Field Research at PokeStops.

When aPokemon GOplayer’s bag is full, they don’t benefit fromvisiting PokeStopsin the same way that players with empty bag slots do. They miss out on items and the very useful Field Research. Each PokeStop only rewards one Field Research every day, so missing out on the reward could be very detrimental toPokemon GOfans who have full bags. One fan suggested that this quality-of-life change doesn’t exist so that players don’t exploit rewards from completing research tasks. Doing this will reward players with items whether their bags are full or not. For now,Pokemon GOplayers with full bags who wish to gain Field Research at a PokeStop simply have to delete some items.
Over 4,000Pokemon GOfans seem to agree with the Reddit user. The top-rated response to Ljgillzl was a Redditor saying that this change is their “biggest wish for the game bar none.” SeveralPokemon GOplayers also took the opportunity to discuss tasks that are impossible to complete in their area for varying reasons. Another quality-of-life change that onePokemon GOfan mentioned in response to Ljgillzl was the addition of Pokemon Centres that will heal a player’s Pokemon and provide an additional landmark to hang out with otherPokemon GOplayers at. Another player was quick to point out thatPokeStops still reward playerswith their first spin of the day if they spin the Pokestop medal.
Regardless, it is clear that manyPokemon GOfans agree with Ljgillzl’s sentiment that there isn’t a logical reason for players with full bags to be disciplined at PokeStops with the omitted Field Research. Several frustrated players expressed that they’ve experienced this issue countless times. A majority of thesePokemon GOfans recommend deleting thePokeballs that are often rewardedat PokeStops.
Some replies to Ljgillzl’s post suggested that this quality-of-life change isn’t being made because Niantic wouldn’t profit from it.Pokemon GOplayerscan purchase additional storage, and this may alleviate some of the stress on their inventory. While these purchases are considered optional, somePokemon GOfans responding to Ljgillzl feel forced to upgrade their backpacks.
