Summary

APokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer has recently discovered a pretty weird bug that changed some of the information about Rayquaza after they transferred it usingPokemon Home. Rayquaza is one of themost powerful Legendary Pokemonavailable in the series, and this rare bug proved troublesome for the gamer affected by it.

Pokemon Homestarted back in 2020, and it’s a cloud service that allows players to gather all of their Pokemon from different games, moving them between compatible versions, and storing them online. Normally, the service works pretty well, but one unlucky gamer found a very uncommon glitch recently.

APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan called DJHarris4444 shared their problem online, stating that some of the information about their Rayquaza was incorrect after transferring it between games withPokemon Home. The gamer originally captured this Rayquaza inPokemon Sword and Shield, but they noticed that after usingPokemon Homea few times, the game told them that the creature came from Hisui instead of Galar, which is incorrect. The main issue is that this makes the system consider it to be an “illegal” Pokemon, and blocks it from participating in online events such as raids, for instance.

The users in the comments of the Reddit post tried to help DJHarris4444, but the problem persisted. For instance, some of them tried to determine whether it was just a visual glitch, but it did not seem likely, as they were unable to participate in online events. According to aPokemonplayer called MELAB0NES, for instance, the bug was probably related to anyspecific mechanic inPokemon Home, and it’s probably rare, so it can’t be solved easily. Others wondered whether the bug could have been caused while transferring the creature between games several times. The only solution for a person with a similar bug is to contact Game Freak directly, but it’s a long shot, as there’s no guarantee that the developers would personally solve the issue.

Unfortunately,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare not without their glitches, even when they don’t involve trading Pokemon. For instance, a player recently discovered a curiousScarlet and Violetbug that helps gamers getting Houndourearly. To do it, gamers can look for the glitch during the opening tutorial mission, and a Houndour will spawn at a specific point. At least, in this case, the bug itself looks fairly harmless, and may even help gamers who want to catch this Pokemon quickly when starting a new game.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare out now for Nintendo Switch.
