APokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer has clipped the moment in which they finally evolved a Dunsparce into a long Normal-type Dudunsparce after what they claim took 151 attempts. Although Dunsparce was first introduced to the franchise withPokemon Gold and Silver, its evolution Dudunsparce came with the Gen 9 Pokedex ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it has a rarer long form that some trainers are clambering to acquire.
Reddit user Sagedro09 recently shared a video of their adventures inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s region of Paldeain which their Dunsparce has evolved into a special Dudunsparce, with the player showing the Pokemon from all angles. Dudunsparce wasn’t the only new evolution to an existing Pokemon withPokemon Scarlet and Violet, as Crabrawler, Girafarig, and Primeape all got the same treatment with the Gen 9 Pokedex. Like other recent generations ofPokemontitles,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetalso introduced new regional variants to existing Pokemon like Tauros and Wooper to further expand the number of Pokemon that players have to capture along the way.

The standard Dudunsparce inPokemon Scarlet and Violetextends the body of Dunsparce by one round segment, while the long one offers an extra portion that makes it stand out clearly from a regular Dudunsparce or its pre-evolution. Sagedro09’s video highlights this change by rotating the camera around the Pokemon as its evolution text congratulates the player for their new Dudunsparce which happens to be attempt number 151. Similar to the rarity ofShiny Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, players have a one in one hundred chance to turn their Dunsparce into a three-segmented Dudunsparce rather than the normal form which shows the bad luck felt by Sagedro09.
ThePokemon Scarlet and Violetvideo shared by Sagedro09 fittingly includes the music from the evolution screen that celebrates the transformation process despite the fact that Sagedro09 had gone through it so many times. Applauding thePokemontrainer’s dedication to the long Dudunsparce, thePokemon Scarlet and Violetclip has garnered over 3,500 upvotes of Reddit users that mostly challenged Sagedro09 to obtain a Shiny long Dudunsparce next. Given the rarity ofShiny Pokemon and the long Dudunsparcewhich doesn’t spawn in the wild, the odds of getting a shiny version may have the player trying for a lot more than 151 attempts.
As manyPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers expressed their enthusiasm for Sagedro09’s patience in reaching their goal for a long Dudunsparce, others stated their intent to acquire one for themselves. While some fans stated that they got a longerDudunsparce inPokemon Scarlet and Violetin far fewer attempts than Sagedro09, others discussed the Game Boy symbol used to represent Pokemon from older generations.
