Red Dead Redemption 2players have had access to the game for over two years now, with many putting dozens of hours into the Rockstar title. However, despite so many thorough playthroughs,Red Dead Redemption 2players have missed a neat touch in the mission “Help A Brother Out.”
When Arthur Morgan and the rest ofthe Van Der Linde gangvisit Saint Denis, they begin to carry out some random jobs for residents in the city. One of these quests sees Arthur meeting a monk named Brother Dorkins, with the man of faith sending Arthur to investigate a shop. Fearing that the owner is involved in human trafficking, this act of good faith sees Arthur making a startling discovery. By either intimidating the shop owner or finding the hidden room himself, Arthur discovers two slaves hidden away.

Normally, the mission sees Arthur freeing the kids and bringing them back to the monk. While this is a nice act of heroism fromRed Dead Redemption 2’s complex protagonist, players can take it up a notch if they so wish. As pointed out by the Reddit user RealJuvs, a hidden bit of dialogue can be accessed if players meet a specific requirement. First, they need to avoid robbing the owner before freeing the slaves. Secondly, they need to wait for the young boys to approach the register.
If done correctly, Arthur can open the register and hand the money directly to the slaves. While this will normally just see Arthur pocketing the money for himself, waiting for the children to come to the table will start the animation. While it does mean less money for Arthur, it provides some extra honor that can help players obtainRed Dead Redemption 2’s good ending. Considering that Arthur can also turn down payment from the monk, players have a few options to show some kindness inside this mission.
This is hardly the onlyRed Dead Redemption 2discoveryto be made in recent weeks, as players have found some other neat secrets inside the game. These include a secret place to buy food, some special steamboats to pilot, and some deceptive beggars to call out. More violent discoveries have made the rounds, too, showing that Rockstar was careful to include a lot of smart touches in its latest game. As pointed out by the experience of Redditor fritocloud, even players with 100% completion and the game’s platinum trophy can still miss out on neat moments like this one.
Withdetail hunting inRed Dead Redemption 2now becoming a legitimate pastime for some gamers, it is only a matter of time before more of these subtle touches appear online. With Rockstar putting the time into making them, it is nice to see that theRed Dead Redemptioncommunity is just as dedicated to finding them.
Red Dead Redemption 2is currently available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
