Since the game was released, players have reported hearing ghostly noises while traveling through certain parts of the map near Saint Denis.Red Dead Redemption 2is known for its environmental storytelling, so players were interested to know the story behind the ghostly noises. But it wasn’t until a dataminer found the sound clips that players learned anything new about the otherworldly battle.

After YouTuber RedDeadUnderworld datamined the sound files ofRed Dead Redemption 2, they found the sound files for the battle, prompting others to dig further into the map near Saint Denis. MonsterTheKing55 on Reddit, spurred on by the discovery, camped around the area of Bolger Gate, looking for the source. Finally, he found it as he watched over an empty field from the church window during a thunderstorm at night.

While there are still plenty ofunsolvedRDR2mysteries in Guarmaand around the map, this one can finally be put to bed. Staring out the church window at night during a thunderstorm, players can hear the battle sound files played in their entirety, playing out the Civil War battle of Bolger’s Gate. There are horns, the sounds of horses, marching soldiers, and even General Harris planning battle moves. It’s certainly creepy, and the thunderstorm really adds to the spooky factor.

Red Dead Redemption 2is known for historical details in the games, told by players' surroundings if they are willing to take the time to look. Between the Civil War battle of Bolger’s Gate and thefamous dead bodies around the map, players really get a sense of the time and place. It makes the story and the characters all that more real and immersive.
