Remnant 2can, at times, be a brutal and unforgiving challenge for players, particularly those who are new to the Soulslike genre. However, whether enemies are proving too strong, or even not strong enough for a player’s skill level, there is an option for players to adjust the difficulty settings.

How To Change The Game’s Difficulty

Players who wish to adjustthe difficulty settings of their gamecan do so without needing to exit their current session and create a whole new character. In order to increase or decrease how hard a game’s challenges are, players will need to consult the World Stone in Ward 13. The process of making these changes is known asrerolling the campaign. This can only be done from the stone in Ward 13, so players who are in other worlds will first need to return there.

In the World Map menu, there is a section down the bottom of the rotating menu called World Settings, where players will see the current mode they are in (Campaign or Adventure) as well as the symbol that corresponds with their current difficulty setting. to change the difficulty, players will need to go into the settings menu and select Reroll Campaign. This will prompt gamers to selectthe new difficulty for their campaignbefore asking for confirmation. For a more detailed guide on how to do this, see the video above.

What Players Should Know First About Rerolling

Campaign Progress Is Wiped

The most important thing to note about rerolling a campaign is thatthe progress a player has made on the previous campaign will be lost, and they will be given a clean slate. This means thatthe main story will start again, regardless of how many worlds a player has already overcome, so this decision should be made with careful consideration.

The New Campaign Won’t Be The Same As The First One

Remnant 2has a major point of difference from other titles in the Soulslike genre in that it operates using procedurally changing worlds, meaning the environments that players dive into will differ from other players. Rerolling a campaign will have the same effect, meaningdungeons, quests, and the general layout of the world will differfrom one campaign to another.

Additionally, the rerolled world may also differ from the original one, as the game doesn’t have a linear world structure, meaning players can start their campaign from any of the game’s dimensions. This is a telling feature that will seeRemnant 2asone of the most replayable titles in recent memory.

Players Keep Their Character Build

While restarting a campaign may, depending on how far a player has progressed, seem a tedious task, their character will still have all the weapons and loot they acquiredon their previous journey. This is a great benefit for players who may have found the game too challenging because, even on the lowest difficulty setting, players will be able to start the campaign again with a distinct advantage from when they first started. Thiscan give newer players the opportunityto be better prepared for the campaign and be better equipped for success.
