Resident Evil 4 Remakefeatures many weapons for Leon to use on his mission. Some of these weapons can be found in the field, but most are acquired by purchasing them from the iconic and mysterious merchant. The merchant can be found at multiple points throughout the game’s chapters alongside a save typewriter and a storage box. Leon can spend in-game currency (Pasetas)to upgrade his arsenal of weapons.Pasetas can be obtained from slain enemies and by selling valuable treasures. Rocket Launcher Location in RE4
In Chapter 3,Leon is tasked with crossing the lake. To do so, players need to first acquire a canister of fuel to start up the boat. While searching for that, they will encounter theMerchant Hideoutafter traversing the quarry. Look for the purple torch that always signals an upcoming merchant. The hideout is well-equipped with a rack full of weaponry and a nearby elevator to the shooting range.
Examine the rack to see the Rocket Launcher, and Leon will comment on how fully stocked the merchant is. The Rocket Launcher will not be available for sale yet. Players need to find the fuel located at the fish farm then fight the Del Lago boss to end Chapter 3.
Buying the Rocket Launcher
In Chapter 4, players must find two statue heads to progress. While searching for them, Leon can now use the boat as he pleases to explore the lake and any areas adjoining it. Head back to the Merchant Hideout with the boat and pull into the dock.
Go up the ladder and view the Merchant’s inventory.The Rocket Launcher will now be on sale for an expensive 80,000 Pasetas.
Is the Rocket Launcher Worth It?
The Rocket Launcher takes up a large amountof the attache case’sspace at a hefty two grid slots high and eight across. More importantly, it is asingle-useweapon. When it is fired, it will beremoved permanentlyfrom the attache case.
The explosion it creates will kill most enemies in range immediately and can end certain boss encounters quickly. Keep in mind that Ashley and Leon will also be affected if the rocket is fired too close. This can lead to a game over if a rocket ends up near Ashley when she is down in her incapacitated state. It is ultimately up to the player whether they want to accept the price tag and lose valuable inventory space to this powerful weapon.
