Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0will be launching with only one map, but the game could be getting an additional map for players to battle it out on at some point next year. The large-scale map is huge, with intriguing points of interest, some of which are callbacks to classicCall of Dutymultiplayer maps. Fans will get the chance to exploreCall of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s Al Mazrah map for themselves on November 16, but next year, they may have another map to explore as well.

According to leaker TheGhostofHope, Activision studios Beenox and Toys for Bob are making a new map forCall of Duty: Warzone 2that will launch at some point in “mid 2023.” Raven Software andCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2developer Infinity Wardare also said to be assisting on the project, with IW “leading the narrative” and Raven “consulting on gameplay ideas.” Fans should take this information with a big grain of salt for now, but it does seem likely that the newWarzonewill add fresh, smaller-scale maps eventually.

Rebirth Island was a small mapadded to the originalCall of Duty: Warzoneand it proved to be quite popular with fans. The small size of Rebirth Island meant that matches were faster-paced, cutting down significantly on the time players would spend looting and running from point A to point B in Verdansk. It goes without saying that someCall of DutyBR fans will want a similar experience withWarzone 2.0, but fans will have to hang tight for more details.

As for the main Al Mazrah map inCall of Duty: Warzone 2, fans will actually get a sneak preview of it sooner rather than later. TheCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2Ground War mapsare actually based on the newWarzonemap, with locations pulled directly from the BR. While it won’t be exactly the same as the BR experience, this should still letCall of Dutyplayers practice forWarzone 2by playing the standard multiplayer.
