Some Xbox Insiders are already teasing their friends, family, and fans about the fact that they know the location ofthe upcomingForza Horizon, but Jeff Grubb and Klobrille have only confirmed that it isn’t set in Japan. Nobody has teased what location the next open-world racing title from Playground Games will take place in, but the rumors about it being in Japan are unfounded.

A previous leak suggested thatForza Horizon 5would take place in Asia, and although Japan is in the Asian region, Jeff Grubb and Klobrille haven’t denied other potential parts of Asia being featured in the next installment in the series. According to other rumors,Forza Horizon 5will release beforethe already confirmedForza Motorsport, and that it may release as early as later this year.

Jeff Grubb and Klobrille have both suggested thatForza Horizon 5will release later this year, but haven’t suggested a timeline. Traditionally,Forza Horizontitles release in September, so Playground Games may be well into development on the open-world racing title. Klobrille has gone even further in teaser territory than Jeff Grubb, claiming that they “might have an idea' whereForza Horizon 5is set.

Forza Horizon 4found success on Steamand Xbox One, being set in the rolling hills, lakesides, and long stretches of farmland that compose the landscape of the Great Brittain. The title released two years afterForza Horizon 3in 2018, while that sequel followed its predecessor by two years as well. This development timeline suggests that Playground Games is at least getting ready to announceForza Horizon 5.

Other locations that theForza Horizonseries has already featured includeColorado (USA), Southern Europe, and Australia. Playground Games won’t likely be revisiting these places anytime soon. Since neither Jeff Grubb nor Klobrille claimed thatForza Horizon 5doesn’t focus on Asia, it could be set in other countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, or Vietnam.
