If there’s something gamers can count on every year, it’s that anotherCall of Dutywill drop. However, it seems publisher Activision appears to be ramping up the number ofCoDgames one should expect. For example,Warzonerecently released, but aBlack OpsReboot is said to be in development for this year as well. It doesn’t end there either as information concerning 2021’s line up have seemingly trickled onto the internet.
It’s worth mentioning that this information comes way of YouTuber TheGamingRevolution, who recently provided info on the aforementionedBlack Opsrebootand recently onCall of Duty 2021. TheGamingRevolution has had several leaks turn out to be true in the past, and as such, is a rather trustworthy source. However, as with all rumors, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, but the YouTuber says thatCall of Duty 2021will have a building mechanic, not unlikeFortnite.

It is said to release next year, be free-to-play, available on console and mobile, and developed by Sledgehammer games, and it is not the main 2021 game. Not much else is known given that its release is still far off, but the very fact that it could mimic something similar toFortnitedefinitely seems strange. Apparently,Call of Duty2021 players will be able to build forts, among other things, but it’s uncertain if the functionality is more akin to, say,Battlefield 5than it isFortnite. While this may worry some fans, TheGamingRevolution has also stated that 4Call of Dutygames are currently in development, including aModern Warfare 2 Remastered.
Assuming that this is indeed the case, plenty ofCall of Dutyis headed players' ways, and thisFortnite-esqueCall of Dutygame is just one of them. TheGamingRevolution also mentioned that the vitriol the idea has received thus far should likely be tempered; after all, with so few details, it’s hard to pass judgement, especially that which may be mostly derived from simpleFortnitehatred.
In the meantime, though, there’s plenty ofCall of Dutyto go around. Whether it’s the success mobile game,Modern Warfare, orWarzone, fans of the franchise doesn’t have to worry about a content drought anytime soon.
