Mages play an extremely important role inSalt and Sacrifice, providing materials that are used to craft a variety of equipment. However, killing a Mage just once will not generate enough material to create all the gear that a player may be interested in, and indeed fans may need to dispatch these enemies numerous times before everything is said and done. This guide is here to assist players with that process, and it will explain how to farm Mages inSalt and Sacrifice.

To note, players will eventually obtain Tomes that give them access to Fated Hunts. These hunts are initiated from the Mirrorgate inSalt and Sacrifice’s Pardoner’s Vale, and they allow fans to target specific Mages. Since the process for farming these enemies becomes quite straightforward at that point, as players can simply use Fated Hunts to find Mages, this guide will assume that the reader has not yet located any Tomes.

Salt and Sacrifice: How to Farm Mages

As soon as players complete a Mage hunt for the first time, they will gain the ability to dispatch the foe again. There will be no clue that initiates the hunt on subsequent kills, though, andSouls-likefans will need to locate the enemy in the wild after traveling to Pardoner’s Vale and returning to the level. Fortunately, Mages have a tendency to appear in the vicinity of their initial hunt, which means that players should look for Arzhan-Tin near the gatehouse to the right of the Ashbourne Village starting point, Celus Zend above the Root-Ceil Cave, and so forth.

Upon locating theMage inSalt and Sacrifice, players should put their primary focus on attacking it. Indeed, while these roaming enemies will never have a visible health bar on kills beyond the first one, strikes do damage them, and the Mage will fall when enough damage has been dealt. Fans should not expect to bring a Mage down on their preliminary engagement, though, as it will teleport away fairly quickly.

When a Mage teleports, players should pay careful attention to the direction in which they travel and then move theirSalt and Sacrificecharacterin that direction to encounter the enemy once again. Fans must then simply repeat this process of pursuit until they have inflicted enough damage upon the Mage to cause it to fall, and they will be prompted to cut out its heart when that occurs. If a player is still in need of materials after this kill, they should go back to Pardoner’s Vale and return to the stage to respawn the Mage.

Fortunately, the minions that Mages summon also drop materials when they are dispatched, which means that fans will be accumulating components during the chase. This makes farming Mages slightly less tedious, asSalt and Sacrificeplayerscan feel as though they are making progress even when they are not dealing damage directly to their primary target. In fact, fans that are looking to amass a stockpile of lesser materials may want to leave the Mage alive so that they continue to slay their underlings.
