The days of flip phones may be back. Samsung is introducing a brand new mobile device, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and it may draw comparisons to the old Motorola Razor and the glory of flip phones.
Samsunghas been one of the top mobile phone creators over the past decade, ever since the Galaxy launched to compete with the Apple iPhone. The company has strived to continue to innovate, and this newest phone does just that.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is super stylish, as the look alone immediately makes an impact. As opposed to the old flip phone rectangular look, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G has a box shape to it, as it may draw comparisons to the classicGameboy Advance SP. When closed, the phone has a sleek, small, and compact look. When opened, the Galaxy Z Flip has a screen both on the top and bottom that seamlessly connect, creating the look of one large screen.
One of the things that Samsung is pushing with the new phone is in the name itself, and that is 5G. Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics said “at Samsung, we continue to put the power of 5G in millions of consumers’ hands. We continually demonstrate our commitment to make 5G more accessible to more people.” The phone is lightning fast and ready to take advantage of 5G. It seems as if Samsung is attempting to win the holiday with thebest tech of the year.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is the first Samsung’s Galaxy phone to feature the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform. It will be interesting to see how powerful the phone is compared todedicated gaming phones like the ASUS Rog 3. Regardless, the flip design in it of itself will certainly turn heads.
The ability to flip the phone isn’t just for looks, however, as Samsung has implemented a few cool features. Flex Mode allows the user to create their own experience, as the device can split into two separate 4-inch screens. This also allows for multitasking with different activities happening on each screen, like a YouTube video on one and message answering on another. TheNintendo DS may have popularized both touch and dual screens, but the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is taking it to another level.
The new phone will not be cheap, as it is priced at $1,449.99. With the phone coming out on August 7 of this year, it may be that the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be among thebest phones of 2020very soon.
