Skeleton Knight in Another Worldhas a stellar start with its first episode a couple of weeks ago. If you love the isekai genre, that first episode will instantly hook you to this series. Even if you aresomeone who despises Isekai anime, the first episode is guaranteed to make you want to watch the second one.

Unfortunately the second episode couldn’t live up to the hype of the first one. While it was not bad, it was not that good either. So now it is up to the third and fourth episode to prove whetherSkeleton Knight in Another Worldcan be a noteworthy isekaianime for Spring 2022.

In the second episode, we follow Arc, the skeleton knight, as he took on his first ever mercenary job. It was a bodyguard job for a little girl who wanted to pick up some herbs in the middle of the forest so that she could help her mom. They met a cute animal who later on became Arc’s companion, but other than that, it was a pretty uneventful journey.

When they arrived at the center of the forest, which is marked by a huge tree with white leaves, they encountered a giant lizard-like beast that could spew a venomous breath. It was a Basilisk. The raging beast lands some attacks, butArc ultimately defeats it with one super slash.

What Happened In The Episode 3 And 4 Of Skeleton Knight In Another World?

In the third episode, Arc accidentally met with a female Elf warrior, named Ariane, who is on a mission to find some kidnaped young elfs. Arcoffers his help to Ariane, but she refuses. However, after Arc decided to help her anyway and showcase some of his unique abilities, Ariane finally recognized Arc’s power. And that is how they manage to save the kidnaped elf girls.

In the fourth episode, Ariane asks Arc to help her find other kidnaped elfs at Diento city, and he immediately agrees. They meet with Ariane’s comrade who’s been investigating at Diento and manage to find the location of the kidnaped elfs in a heavily guarded warehouse. However, when they infiltrate the warehouse, Arc finds out that the kidnapershave already been killed by a ninja. The ninja then hands out some important documents to Arc, while Ariane and her comrades kill the remaining enemies and save the elfs.

The third and fourth episodes are actually one long storyline, and that fact alone is an exciting development because it means we finally get to the meat of the story. The introduction of Ariane as a possible addition to the main cast also signifies the fact that the story is about to move forward, rather than just becoming a show about Arc’s random adventure in every episode.

Arc only has little to no action sequences here, because as mentioned earlier, the main purpose of this episode is to introduce Ariane. You could even say that Ariane is the star of this episode. We get to see her personality, her motivation, and her fighting ability.

The pace of this episode is also quite balanced from start to finish. There are times when things slow down a bit to give way to a proper dialogue and exposition, and it will speed up againwhen we get to much more intense scenes. Overall, this is a very solid episode.

Infiltrating the Slave Market! In Search of the World’s Evil

The fourth episode is a direct continuation of the third one and once again, we pretty much see the same kind of direction as the previous episode. However, if the third episode introduces Ariane to the viewers, the fourth episode introduces the concept ofthe strained relationshipbetween humans and elfs.

The third episode shows how humans can and will kidnap little elfs to be sold as a slave. The fourth episode dive deeper into this concept by showing how systematic this problem actually is. Using elf as a slave is apparently quite a regular thing to do forthe nobles and wealthy people in this world. This concept alone can be further developed into lots of different storylines, so this fourth episode lays the foundation for all of those possibilities.

Similar to the previous episode, the pacing is relatively balanced from beginning to end. There are some downtimes when the pace slows down quite a bit, and there are also times when it speeds up to make certain sequences feel so much more intense. However, unlike the previous one, Arc takes a much bigger role in this episode.

The third and fourth episode ofSkeleton Knight in Another Worldmay not be brimming with stellar action sequences as the previous episodes, but then again, action is not the main purpose of these two episodes. They are here to introduce a new major character, and an important concept intothis new and unfamiliar world. And these two episodes manage to do their job flawlessly. Looking forward to the next episode.
