Reddit user GurnBlanston66 has shared an image fromThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimwith the inheritance letter they received. The letter first shares condolences for the death of the Ash Zombie, before stating that it left a sum of 300 gold pieces for the player. The Jarl’s court inSkyrimtakes a cut of 10% from the total as taxes, so GurnBlanston66 received 270 gold due to the death of the Ash Zombie. This gold was dispatched through theSkyrimcourier delivery service.
For those unaware, Ash Zombies are enemies in the world ofSkyrim, making this letter of inheritance pretty strange, so there might be a specific reason for GurnBlanston66 receiving the gold. A fan wonders if this event is due to anySkyrimmods the player may have installed, but others in the comments section confirm that this feature is present in the original version of the game. According to some players, characters using someillusion spells inSkyrimand then killing their opponents can result in them getting a similar letter of inheritance.
This doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident either, as one gamer claims to have letters of inheritance from necromancers inThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Earlier this year, anotherSkyrimplayer inherited 200 gold from a bandit, so it appears that players are likely to receive a strange inheritance letter due to the death of a random enemy at some point during their playthrough.
The amount of gold received by GurnBlanston66 also appears to be quite high, as gamers state that they usually get 100 or 200 gold pieces in similar circumstances. One player also wonders how the Ash Zombie managed to collect 300 gold in the first place, while another user believes that this image showcasesSkyrimlogic at its peak.
