Super Smash Bros. Brawlwas the third game in its franchise, being released on the Wii in the mid-2000s. One feature that was included in this game was the “Masterpieces,” which were free playable time-restricted demos of various Nintendo games. These demos were great ways of introducing players to where the characters originated from, promoting theVirtual Console gamesthat were on the Wii’s digital stores. One of these demos wasOcarina of Time, where it came with two pre-loaded save files of Young Link and Adult Link, with five minutes given to play the demo. With these conditions, this speedrunner was able to beat the entirety of this game within that time limit.

The run is a sight to behold, as Link exits the Temple of Time, using his bombs and other tools to trigger the right glitch. Savestate noted that they had several different failed routes that were planned out for this demo’s run, thanks to the help of their partner. They even uploaded a video detailing the route ideas made to pull this off. This sets a new World Record for speedrunningOcarina of Time.
The final time of this speedrun was 4 minutes and 52 seconds, which is just barely under the demo’s time limit, with the notification of it popping up after part of the credits have rolled.
