These pots serve as a great way to retrieve things that can be used in important elements of the game such as crafting and gift-giving. However, it is important to figure out how this important tool works and what can be retrieved from it.
Where To Find Crab Pots
There are a few ways to obtainCrab Pots. Upon reaching Fishing Level 3, players will get the recipe to craft them. The ingredients for most players are 40 wood and three iron bars. If players have taken the Trapper profession, it would require 25 wood and two copper bars. They can also be directly purchased from Willy’s Fish Shop for 1,500 gold, but only after reaching level 3. In addition, three crab pots are rewarded upon finishing up the Crab Pot Bundle in the Fish Tank of the Community Center.
How To Set Up A Crab Pot
Once a Crab Pot is obtained with any of these methods, it can only be placed in bodies of water. There is no limit as to what kind of water it can be placed in, but it will determine which items can be picked up. Once placing the Crab Pot, players will see that it is empty.

Players will need to put some sort of bait inside of the Crab Pot in order to attract an item. Those with the Luremaster profession don’t need to worry about putting bait into the Crab Pot as it will automatically attract items. Players will only need to wait a single day after setup to catch something.
What Can Be Caught
The next day after setting up a pot, there will be an item inside it. As noted earlier, where the pot is placed plays a massive factor in what ends up in it. Furthermore, if players have the Marinerprofession, it increases the likelihood of catching a fish and makes it almost impossible to catch trash.
