Few items could be considered more essential for space travel than the space helmet, and in Bethesda’sStarfield, this is no different. With such a wide variety of planets for players to visit, each demands different requirements from a player’s gear. Helmets can be used not only to protect players' heads from incoming damage, but also as a defense against environmental elements.
Each helmet has a different stat number for its resistance to Physical (PHYS), Energy (ENGY) and Electromagnetic (EM) damage, as well as Thermal, Airborne, Corrosive and Radiation resistance. On balance, these helmets should be the best in the game to see playersvisit a wide variety of planetsand progress through the game’s story.

8Constellation Space Helmet

Players will be given the helmet when they complete the quest “The Old Neighborhood.” Afterward, modified versions will begin to appear with increasing frequency from defeated enemies and loot chests.
7UC Antixeno Space Helmet
The UC Antixeno helmet is a unique helmet players can acquire during the mission “Hostile Intelligence"for the UC Vanguard faction. The base helmet has decent protection all over 40 for Physical, Energy and Electromagnic resistance, with 20 Radiation protection which can also be useful on many planets.
Players can find the armor during the faction mission when they enter the Armory. Here, the Antixeno Space Helmet can be foundon the table. Players at a higher level may also acquire this item as a random drop in loot chests or from enemies.
6Trackers Alliance Space Helmet
The Trackers Alliance is a group of mercenaries throughout the Settled Systems. Players can work for them by visiting mission boards or speaking with Trackers in a range of locations. Unlike Ecliptic or the Crimson Fleet, the Trackers are more professional even if smaller in number, and their helmet proves it with solid Physical, Energy and EM resistance as well as 20 Airborne.
Players can find a number of variations of this helmet as they progress through the game. They often appear as loot drops in random chests, display cases, or on difficult enemies. The helmet offers a great base level of protection in a variety of departments, so upgrading it will only enhance it even more.
5Old Earth Space Helmet
The Old Earth helmet, along with the Old Earth suit, is a rare item that harkens back to the (present) times of space exploration. In addition to making a gooddecoration for player homes, the suit has some impressive defense at 74 Physical resistance and 20 Thermal.

The helmet, along with the suit, can be acquired from a number of limited locations. It is mainly available at higher levels from unique vendors who specialize in weaponry and armor. It can also be acquired by collecting all the snow globes from Earth.
4Mercury Space Helmet
The Mercury Space Helmet is a very well-rounded helmet and will be suitable for players across most planets. With Physical, Energy and Electromagnetic resistance each in excess of 50, and Thermal, Airborne, Corrosive and Radiation protection all at 15, few other helmets can compete with its versatility and well-roundedness.
The helmet and its counterpart Spacesuit can be found during the main campaign mission “Unearthed” whenplayers visit the NASA Landmark on Earth, located in Florida. Players will also come by this item at higher levels in random chests and containers throughout the game world.
3Bounty Hunter Space Helmet
Though the Bounty Hunter helmet has some impressive stats, it has a surprisingly generic look given thatits counterpart Spacesuit is inspired by the look of the legendary Boba Fett. With 72 Physical resistance and 20 Thermal, the Bounty Hunter helmet can take a fair amount of punishment, and is particularly effective when facing human enemies.

2Mantis Space Helmet
In addition to having one of the most unique and intimidating designs of any equippable item inStarfield, the Mantis helmet also has an interesting story behind it. With strong stats across the board, the Mantis helmet also has additional Thermal and Corrosive protection as well as severalinteresting modification options.
The helmet can be acquired by completing the quest “Mantis” on the moon Denebola I-b. The quest can be started by recovering a slate from a dead spacer in the Medical Ward of the Nova Galactic Staryard in orbit around Luna. The slate is titled “Secret Outpost!”.
1Mark I Space Helmet
Much like the Mark I Pack and Spacesuit, it is hard to find any unmodified equipment in the Settled Systems which surpasses the performance of the Mark I Helmet. The main strengths of the helmet are its well-rounded stats, boasting 68 EM resistance as well as 20 Thermal.
There are several ways to acquire the Mark 1 suit, including the one located in the basement of The Lodge, Constellation’s faction headquarters. The easiest way is tocomplete the mission “Rook Meets King,“in which the suit can be found on the body of Dmitri if he dies during the mission.
