Though one or two of the puzzles inStraycan require a bit of out-of-the-box thinking, the game’s short story and relatively simple mechanics mean thatStraycan provide a fairly easy platinum trophyfor those who are into that sort of thing. That said, one or two of the game’s hidden trophies can be a little difficult to unlock for first-time players who don’t fully understand the unlock requirements.

RELATED:Things We Love About Stray

The “Pacifist” trophy is a great example of this, with players expected to make their way throughthe sewers in Chapter 8without killing a single Zurk. Given how many of the little cat-killing critters there are down there, this is no easy feat, nor is holding off the urge to use the powerful Zurk-zapping weapon that’s acquired toward the end of the previous chapter.

How to Unlock the ‘Pacifist’ Trophy in Stray

To unlock the “Pacifist” trophy inStray, players will need to abide by one very simple rule:do not use the Defluxor to kill any Zurks. For those worrying about accidental deaths, it’s also worth noting thatZurks falling to their deaths will not prevent players from unlocking the “Pacifist” trophy. As such, it’s a simple case of not pressing the L1 button to activate the Defluxor at any point during the chapter, though that’s perhaps a little easier said than done.

There are two points at which players can easily find themselves overwhelmed by Zurks, three if they opt to go after one ofB-12’s 27 memories. Given that the aforementioned memory shows up only a few minutes into the chapter, players are advised to grab it via the chapter select menu at a later time. Likewise, it’s not a good idea to go after the “Pacifist” trophy during an “I am Speed” attempt, as the higher chance of death will increase the likelihood of players overshooting the two-hour mark and missing out on the latter.

As for the two locations where players may find themselves struggling, the first comes right at the beginning of the chapter when players need to pass through the gate and pull the lever on the other side. As they approach said lever, a bunch of Zurks will hatch from the nearby eggs, so players will have to keep moving to avoid them while they wait for Momo’s boat. There’s a barrel that players can jump onto opposite the lever too, though Zurks can still jump up there, so it isn’t completely safe.

The second place where players may struggle to survive without the Defluxor is in the large room in which players need to disengage the two door locks that are on opposite sides of a large metal gate. Thankfully, there’s a checkpoint in between disengaging these locks, meaning that if players do die before reaching the second one, they at least won’t have to start again from scratch.

Assuming players aren’t in a hurry, unlocking the “Pacifist” trophy inStraycan be as much about patience as it is skill. This is because there’s no penalty for dying inStray, so players can just keep retrying from the last checkpoint until they make it to the end. In this case, that end comes after players have made it through the last Zurk-infested section, with the “Pacifist” trophy unlocking the moment players pass beneath the closing metal door at the end of the chapter’s final Zurk pursuit.
