Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlordis another strategy game that is fondly remembered for its epic battles and fantastic strategic gameplay, but one where the mercenary system is often overlooked. It really shouldn’t be. Mercenaries play a huge role here and really do add to the overall experience. Players can recruit them in taverns or through the menu, but there is always a fee.
The best way to recruit mercenaries is just to approach them in towns and start negotiations. It’s the best and most authentic way to do it, and really adds to the roleplaying experience. Once recruited, mercenaries become part of the player’s army, and they can be equipped with a wide variety of gear, weapons, and armor. Once again, there’s amorale and loyalty scalehere which players will have to carefully manage, but if done effectively, mercenaries can be a fantastic addition to the player’s army.
