The Spring 2022 anime season has not come to an end, and, with it, a collection of really great series. Whether it wasreturning series likeKaguya-samaor new series likeSpy x Family, this anime season had something for everyone, and it’ll be sad to see some of these shows go.

The Spring 2022animeseason also introduced a bunch of new characters for fans to gush and cheer over, and some have quickly become fan favorites. Here of some of the best male characters that were featured in the Spring 2022 anime season, whether they are new or returning.
10Fudo Aikawa (Love After World Domination)
The leader of the Gelato 5is headstrong and straightforward, focused entirely on his duties and his training. However, it’s also that straightforwardness that moves him to doggedly pursue a relationship with his supposed nemesis, Gekko’s Reaper Princess.
Though he can be somewhat childish and single-minded, Fudo is earnest in both his work as Red Gelato and in his love life as Desumi’s boyfriend. While he may not always hit the mark, what matters is that he always does his best to make everyone happy.
9Nagomu Irino (Deaimon)
Having failed to make it with his band in Tokyo, Nagomu Irino returns home, intending to take over his father’s sweet shop Ryokusho after he got injured. However, his father’s injury turns out to be minor, and Nagomu learns that the heir to the store is now a young girl named Itsuka Yukihira, who is only ten years old.
Despite seeming unreliable and flaky, Nagomu has a friendliness and kindness that warms the hearts of those he meets. His warm and carefree attitude is a breath of fresh air, and he tries to be a good surrogate father to Itsuka.
8Kabetaijin (Ya Boy Kongming!)
Once a shy, introverted young man, Taijin Kawabe discovered the art of battle rapping and soon became an unparalleled force in the community. However, the pressure got the best of him, and he retired despite remaining undefeated, even by his rival Sekitoba Kung Fu.

However, his passion for rap never faded, and after some prodding by Kongming, Kabetaijin returned to the rap battlefield stronger than ever. His precise wordplay and immaculate flow prove his worth as a stellar rapper and one that Kongming recognizes as fundamental for his plan to help Eiko reach stardom.
7Junpei Murao (Dance Dance Danseur)
A brilliant performance during a ballet recital inspires Junpei Murao to try ballet. However, after his father’s death, he shuns it all in order to present himself as a cool, manly man until a chance meeting with a young girl name Miyako Godai allows Junpei to make contact with ballet again.
While Junpei’s insistence on being cool and manly is disheartening early on, he soon grows out of it and throws himself passionately into ballet. His love for the art is plain to see, even when it causes him problems with his teachers.
6Ashito Aoi (Aoashi)
Ashito Aoi is a talented soccer player with a bit of an ego problem. By chance, he meets soccer coach Tatsuya Fukuda, who invites him to join his youth team. Ashito jumps at the chance, but there are many hurdles on his path to success that he must endure.
While Ashito is certainly a person who can have consideration for others, he is also obsessed with scoring in the game, making him seem selfish to others.His growth as both a character and a soccer playeris exciting to see as the show goes on.
5Zhuge Kongming (Ya Boy Kongming)
Once the esteemed strategist of the legendary warlord Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang (also known as Kongming) found himselfreborn in modern Japan; a world without war, yet still full of problems. A chance meeting with the young starlet Eiko Tsukimi inspires him to make her famous and bring her singing to the populace.

Philosophical and well-read, Kongming is quite the bizarre character even when he is just being himself. However, he has a sharp mind that was instrumental in Liu Bei’s victories in China, which he uses to help engineer Eiko’s path to stardom.
4Shinpei Ajiro (Summer Time Rendering)
Shinpei Ajiro returns home in order to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Kofune Ushio. However, while there he learns of the existence of Shadows, mysterious doppelgangers who are causing the island’s residents to disappear. After being killed by one of those Shadows, Shinpei discovers that he has gone back in time.
While Shinpei is initially bewildered by what has occurred, his quick wit allows him to grasp exactly what has happened and turn it to his advantage. His desperate attempt to save his loved ones from the threat of the Shadows is thrilling to watch, and his cleverness is the only thing keeping them alive.
3Miyuki Shirogane (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 3)
The ever-popularKaguya-samareceived a third season in Spring 2022, and it was as hilarious as expected. Of special note is the main character Miyuki Shirogane, the president of Shuchiin’s Student Council, who naturally has a big role in the series, but especially this time around.
While many fans already know Shiroganeas a stoic and conniving character, the third season shows a lot of different sides to him, such as his growing interest in rap music. Shirogane remains a fun character to watch as he attempts to make Kaguya admit her love for him.
2Xin (Kingdom Season 4)
Xin has come a long way from the young servant boy that he was in the first season.Having distinguished himself on the battlefieldmany times against powerful officers and commanders, Xin is now a renowned leader of the esteemed Fei Xin Unit.
While Xin is still a long way away from the rank of General, he is still making great progress. His charisma commands the respect of his soldiers, and while he has no mind for strategy, his instincts lead him to victory on the battlefield.
1Twilight (Spy x Family)
The top agent of WISE, Twilight is a master of disguise and a spy like no other. Forced to take on the complicated Operation Strix, Twilightadopts the guise of Loid Forgerand creates a family with an adopted daughter in Anya and a wife in Yor.
While Twilight presents himself as a cool, level-headed character, he can also be quite overbearing and forceful when he has to be. Although he tries to distance himself from his family, he can’t help but end up attached to them regardless of his mission.
