There are a lot of things that players want to see in the new Freedom Liberty Expansion ofCyberpunk 2077. The stakes run high, and the patience of the gamers runs low since there are still a lot of people who think that CDPR “owes” them one, for the almostcatastrophic releaseofCyberpunk 2077, back in 2020.

The trailers and the interviews with the developers and the actors have the fans super excited but this time around, this excitement has a lot of suspicion in it. Will thePhantom Libertyexpansion manage to be a smooth and interesting experience for the loyal fans of the game, and will it manage to calm down the fans that are still annoyed with CDPR? It remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: this time players know what they want to see, but most importantly, what they don’t want to see.
8V And Johnny Fight
One thing that can be missing from the newPhantom Libertyexpansion is the constant bickering between Johnny and V. In the base game, the player mighthave some choicesas to how much the duo is going to argue, but there is no chance to avoid conflict.
And while it creates tension and urgency, and it is completely understandable (two people in the same body are bad enough, but make them also strong-headed, and players will have a bomb on their hands), in the base game it becomes a bit repetitive. Hopefully, there won’t be pointless arguments in the expansion, although it wouldn’t do to suddenly make them best friends either.
7All The Best Weapons Given At The End
It’s the case with a lot of RPGs, but especially withCyberpunk 2077, the players were quite annoyed to find that they got some amazingly powerful weapons that they didn’t have any time to use.

The game has already someamazing choices for weaponsand it is expected that the expansion is going to grow this amazing collection by quite a lot, but the players can’t help but hope to get them quite early, so they can enjoy them during the playthrough. Especially with no New Game Plus feature, it doesn’t make sense to keep something amazing for the end just to use it one or two times.
6Complicated Skill Tree
WhileCyberpunk 2077is pretty straightforward when it comes to skill trees, it is on the verge of becoming quite complicated. There are 5 attributes in theoriginal skill tree: Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical, and Cool. Players can’t max all of them out in a single playthrough and those that will be visiting the game for the second time whenPhantom Libertycomes out might choose a different path than the one they had the first time they played the game.
During the game, V will actually put to good use whichever attribute the player chooses to focus on, so if thePhantom Libertyexpansion comes up with more uses for attributes and perks, or, maybe, even more attributes and perks, things are bound to get a bit messy.
5Bullet Sponge Enemies
There are few things that players hate more than bullet sponge enemies, and unfortunately,Cyberpunk 2077has quite a few of them. Whether it’s cyberpsychos, gangs, police,or boss battles, V will come across some enemies that just won’t die. Of course, the more the player advances their weapons and skills, the easier those enemies are going to go down, but if someone doesn’t want to spend all their time looting and searching for the perfect weapon, they are going to have a hard time.
It is a shame in such a fast-paced game to have to spend a couple of minutes just to bring down an enemy that most of the time has no reason to be that strong, and it shows laziness on the part of the developers to make those enemies part of the story, so V can’t really avoid them (like the player sometimes can do with the gangs or the police fights).
4Super Long Braindances
Braindances are actually a superbly cool feature ofCyberpunk 2077, and in most cases, they create a lot of emotions in the players, since they are not exactly mild. V has found many uses for the braindances during the game, from solving minor mysteries to progress on the main mission, and some of them have made gaming history with how disturbing they were.

But, a good thing doesn’t necessarily have to be a constant thing. While braindances are indeed cool, they are alsoexhausting for the player, since the lights and the sounds during them will make the player’s eyes and ears tired, to say the least. And then there is the constant back and forward, trying to pinpoint the exact phrase or moment that someone did something, which is fun at first but becomes tedious the tenth time a player watches the same braindance.
3Huge Back And Forth In The Same Mission
Who can forget the mission with theDelamain taxis, where the player had to travel almost all around Night City in search of the deranged taxis? Even though as a mission it was well-thought-out and made the player have to take one of the hardest choices in the whole game, a lot of players were very annoyed with how much time it took to find, stop, and then return the taxis to the base.
And it’s not the only mission like this in the game. Although some back and forth is normal and expected, in a city as big as Night City is, or Dogtown is expected to be, going around endlessly just to pick this and that can be extremely boring.
2Johnny Betraying V
Johnny Silverhand is not the most honest or trustworthy of guys, and even though V and the player know this straightaway, either one or both keep trusting him over and over again. In the base game, Johnny betrays V on more than one occasion, whether it is something menial or something that actually puts V’s life, mind, or both in danger.

It still remains to be seen inwhich part of the gamethePhantom Libertyexpansion will take place, but wherever it is, it would make for an excellent pattern break in the game if Johnny didn’t try to trap V into something, either by taking over their body or just leading them somewhere for his own gain.
1Glitches
UponCyberpunk’s 2077release, the word that everyone heard more often about it was “glitches”. It became so bad that CDPR had tomake multiple announcementsand take different actions to manage to save their reputation, which is still a bit shaky all things considered.
Players have shown very clearly that they would actually prefer to wait a bit for a game that runs smoothly, than getting the game with a lot of minor (and in some cases not that minor) but definitely annoying problems. If CDPR is not ready by the 26th of September, it would be best to push the release date than have to deal with backlash.
