One of the most talked-about exotic auto rifles inDestiny 2at the moment continues to deal less damage than intended even after multiple hotfixes, leaving many players frustrated that the weapon, exclusive for players who preordered the expansion or purchased the deluxe edition, remains weak in high-level activities. Though the developers ofDestiny 2had acknowledged the issue around the time the latest expansion launched, some fans feel that the problem hadn’t received due attention over the past few patches for the game.

The Quicksilver Storm exotic auto rifle quickly became a favorite for manyDestiny 2fans after it was introduced to the game last year as a preorder bonus for those who had purchased theLightfallexpansion ahead of its release. Its popularity is fairly surprising considering the relative weakness of auto rifles in general compared to other weapon types at the moment, though Quicksilver Storm’s grenade launcher configuration and homing missiles make it stand out among others of its kind. Unfortunately, withthe release ofDestiny 2: Lightfall, Quicksilver Storm became the victim of a bug which removed its 40% damage bonus against rank-and-file enemies.

This glitch only made the weapon less viable in much of thecontent introduced withDestiny 2: Lightfall, as the recent changes to overall difficulty have resulted in enemies boasting far greater health pools than before. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a fix for this weapon since the launch of the latest expansion, with one member of the community under the name xSpectre_iD on Reddit making a post on the site to express their disappointment after the game’s latest 7.0.0.6 hotfix carried no word of a fix for the exotic weapon. The post requested for Bungie to provide more information regarding the issue, as many fans have expressed their anger over the exclusive weapon remaining bugged for so long.

Thankfully, the developers quickly provided an official response to the post, claiming that the bug is on their list of known issues and that a fix is taking longer than hoped due to its complexity. It’s unclear how long it could take for the issue to be taken care of, though Bungie’s track record continues to leave some fans uneasy.Destiny 2has seen countless bugsover the years both annoying and perplexing, with the sheer scale of the game and the diversity of its content often leading to new problems cropping up.

Many issues regarding abilities, weapons, armor pieces, and more have taken several months or longer to fix in the past, with some old and well-known issues still persisting to this day. While it could be some time yet beforeQuicksilver Storm is finally fixed, it’s safe to say that Bungie is well aware of the problem as well as the significance of the weapon itself, and many players hope that it might echo its recent statement in a future TWAB post.
