Updated July 22, 2025, by Jessica Filby:Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the newest addition to the Borderlands franchise and is continuing to be a great success within the gaming industry. However, the increasing popularity brings with it a multitude of new players who find themselves in a scenario unlike any other. This game is advertised as being a completely new take on the original Borderlands formula and so it’s not uncommon to see seasoned players enter the game with no idea as to what’s going on. No matter if fans have played the previous games or are just starting their Borderlands adventure with this one, there are some tips that every Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands beginner just has to know.
15Personality Voices
When it comes to making a character inmost RPG video games, players are able to choose a voice as well as how they look or what clothes they wear. This introduces an element of uniqueness to the game itself and allows players to really feel like they are embodying the character they choose.
However,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandstakes this character creation one step further. Players get to create a personality that actually impacts what and how the character speaks. It makes it entirely personal and a choice that players should make carefully when selecting.
14Photo Mode
The style of theBorderlandsgames is unlike any other. They’re recognizable as being cartoonish with distinctive lines and beautiful colors which often leaves players sitting back and admiring the landscape around them.
Thankfully, such a landscape can be savored for longer inTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsthrough the available photo mode. It’s only really useful for simple shots but it’s a great way to save some hilarious scenes or stunning landscapes.
13Complete Side Quests
When it comes to RPGs there are two ways many fans play. The first typically make sure they explore everything, complete as many side and main quests as they can, and are typically the completionists of the industry. The second are the speedrunners who either focus purely on the main quest and put the game down or complete the main quest and then do all the side quests after.
The wayTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsplays will require players to complete at least a few side quests along the way. This will help level the player up, give them useful loot, and will just make the rest of the game that much easier.
12Always Stick To The High Ground
Intypical Star Wars fashion, having the high ground is a fantastic advantage inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. It allows players to see everything they need to see, assess the battle before engaging, and, if they are wielding a sniper, they can maybe take down some enemies from a much safer position.

It’s always worth looking out for any spots to get up before engaging in a particular landscape. It’s a safer option and is a habit every beginner will need to pick up when going forward inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
11Practice Makes Perfect
In the same way as the traditionalBorderlandsgames, there are many unique elements toTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. There are guns with exciting abilities, spells that can do pretty much whatever the player wants, and so many other elements that players need to understand.
When equipping a new spell or gun, they should make sure to practice with it before getting into a serious battle. Nothing is worse than equipping new elements only to find they’re useless against the enemy that’s four levels higher already. Players should practice before fighting and understand what to fight with and when.
10Upgrade Backpacks
Backpacks are where players store their loot. This looter shooteris filled with exciting weapons and items that could prove to be useful in the battles ahead. So nothing is worse than finding a ring that’s perfect for the character, only to find that it won’t fit in the backpack and therefore cannot be picked up.
This is why it’s vital players look to upgrade their backpacks whenever possible. Head to the Brighthoof Blacksmith when it becomes an available location and quest to increase carrying capacity. The focus should be on carrying capacity rather than lost loot space or a storage bank, however, it won’t hurt to grab this when it’s viable.
9Keep Inventory Smart
One of the most important aspects ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlandis the loot and how the player can effectively manage that as they traverse through the lands fighting enemies everywhere they go. This is why it’s extremely important tobe smart about the inventory slotsby keeping up-to-date with what is actually needed and what can be removed without losing the actual item.
This is the case with most cosmetics. As it is with a lot of RPGs, the player doesn’t need to keep all the cosmetic items in their inventory. Simply selecting them will remove them from the inventory space and allow the player to put them on in Brighthoof Tavern. It’s also worth dropping repeat cosmetics since they don’t sell and will just clog up the player’s inventory.
8Don’t Be Afraid To Spend Money
Due to the design and gameplay ofTiny Tina’s Wonderland, it’s guaranteed the player will get a lot of loot. So it can be rather tempting to throw it away and wait for a better item to drop from an enemy. While that’s a good idea if the player’s inventory is full, it’s still important to find a weapon that’s right and keep hold of the others to sell or to visit vending machines and not hesitate to spend thenot-so-precious gold.

After all, the only thing money will need to be spent on is backpack upgrades so it’s not a game-changing aspect. Just verify the backpack upgrades are the priority and sell everything that isn’t needed.
7Push Enemies Away
InDungeons & Dragons, orBaldur’s Gate 3, one of the most useful elements to battle is the shove action. Fighting over a cliff? Shove them off. Need them out the way? Shove them out the way to get a more advantageous position. This is something players can do inTiny Tina’s Wonderland, although is more to avoid the encounter as a whole. Nevertheless, this is something even some pros are yet to discover.
Players can simply wait for the enemy to get up close and personal and punch them away. The key is to not let the enemy hit the character first or the battle will commence.
6Avoiding Battles
Due to the many random encounters, side questsand general enemies dotted about the map, it’s not uncommon to find an endless stream of battles taking place. Sometimes this can be useful, especially if the player needs to level up or is looking for loot. However, sometimes it can just be frustrating. This is why it’s often better to just run away from them.
Similarly, to the shove, the player just needs to make sure they don’t get hit by the enemy. As soon as the enemy is spotted, run as far out of their way as possible to avoid any annoying attacks.
