The newest expansion forTower of Fantasyfeatures a brand-new region to explore, new simulacra, and plenty of new bosses to challenge. Since the action MMORPG launched last summer, the debut title from China-based Hotta Studio has seen success as a major competitor to HoYoverse’s massively popularGenshin Impact. The game has already seen multiple expansions adding new regions and characters, recentlyintroducing the Miasmic Swamp map last month. Now, the newest update for the RPG takes on an aquatic theme.

Tower of Fantasy’s map has grown substantially since the game launched in August of last year, adding multiple new areas to explore. Version 1.5 brought with it the addition of the game’s first new area in the Artificial Island, just weeks after the game’s global launch. The updates since have seen new locations to traverse every few months with the game constantly receiving map upgrades, adding the Confounding Abyss in November and the previously mentioned Miasmic Swamp. Now,Tower of Fantasyis gearing up for its newest expansion in “Under the Grand Sea.”

Tower of Fantasy’s “Under the Grand Sea” update is set to debut on March 30th. The update will bring a multi-layered new map with the addition of the Grand Sea Island, featuring a new hub in Innars City and the Dragon Breath Volcano. Hotta Studio teased underwater combat as a major new mechanic coming to the region, as well as special exploration mechanics for the aquatic update. The developer would also reaffirm the game’s impending release forthe Epic Games Store, scheduled for Summer 2023.

Along with the new map, the expansion will bring with itthe game’s newest Simulacrumin Lan. Lan comes into the game as a Defense-type Flame element character using her umbrella as a weapon, inflicting a burning status to enemies she attacks and creating smaller plumes that deal continuous damage. The update also brings a major enemy for players to challenge with the Behemoth Abyssant Haboela introduced as the game’s newest world boss.

The two games share similar gameplay styles based on exploration withTower of Fantasytaking a sci-fi approach, as opposed toGenshin Impact’s fantasy elements. “Under the Grand Sea” will bring plenty of unique new features toTower of Fantasynext week.
