Twitchstreamer Dimitri ‘Greekgodx’ Antonatos is known for his commentary and reactions to games likeLeague of Legends, but he has courted controversy on more than one occasion. He was banned in2019 for a controversial rant on Soundcloud’s gender selection/options, a ban seemingly related to DMCA laws in 2020, and in late June 2022, he was banned for a strange tirade.
On June 28, he went on another controversial rant covering everything from vaccines to derogatory remarks regarding women. Specifically, GreekGodx said that if a femaleTwitchstreamer was interested in him, that’d she have to quit and would have to cook, clean, and care for any children. This ban was lifted about three days after, but yet again, GreekGodx finds himself hit with the Twitch ban hammer.

Neither Twitch nor Greekgodx have issued an official statement regarding the reason for the ban, norhow long this Twitch ban will last. Many believe it was related to a clip that went viral after being posted on the Livestreamfails subreddit, however. The clip seemingly shows Greekgodx mocking an Asian family as he walked by during an IRL stream, an action that would be against Twitch’s Community Guidelines for hateful conduct and harassment. Many have accused Greekgodx of being racist in his actions, a claim that he denies.
In a tweet, Greekgodx denied that the family was Asian and insisted it was a Greek family speaking Greek “and to assume that they are Asian is very wrong in itself. My family members are Asian, why would I be racist to the people who brought me up.” Greekgodx has also added that he was just randomly making funny noises. It should be noted that, despite this ban, many who have also lobbied this criticism against Greekgodx have also deleted the tweets after a closer inspection of the family. It could theoretically be something else that resulted inGreekgodx’s new Twitch ban, but in light of any official confirmation, this does seem to be the likeliest event.
After all, it’s usually not too hard to pinpoint why Twitch bans a streamer, even though it doesn’t often directly address this itself. There are few bans as mysterious asDr. Disrespect’s departure from Twitch, after all, and that’s saying something given the number of controversies that rise up around the streaming platform. Whether that’s cyberstalking, hate raids, drama related to specific streamers, and far more, Twitch has tons of problems it needs to clean up. It remains to be seen how this specific ban plays out, but ultimately it will be up toTwitchitself.
